Fifa 21 "already running" report on EA, but game is not running

I downloaded FIFA 21 from the EA app on PC. Every time I try to launch the game it opens the FIFA 21 launcher, but it won't launch when I click PLAY. Instead, the EA app will say the game is already running but does not show on the task manager. The Task Manager will only show the FIFA 21 Launcher if it's open and the FIFA 21.exe file will show as a sub from the FIFA21 launcher, but won't launch regardless. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and the EA app but nothing changes. I've also allowed FIFA21.exe. file through the firewall, and have it run as administrator. Nothing changed.

Please assist urgently.
