F1 24 - Autosave fail

Bought (from Epic store, through the EA app) and downloaded this game 2 days ago. (PC - Windows 10) Fired it up only to discover that I cannot save game progress. Autosave doesn't work - just goes from "Saving game..." to an error message that says "Save failed, do you want to retry?" There also doesn't seem to be an option to manually save progress. (Great start so far...) 

I read online that most likely the cause is OneDrive. I completely uninstalled OneDrive and restarted my PC. but I still cannot save anything. Each time I boot up the game, I have to go through accepting all the terms and conditions, accessibility settings, and start the game entirely from the beginning. 

I've tried running the game in Admin mode, no difference.

I've tried completely turning off firewall/antivirus, no difference.

Is there a fix or do I (like lots of people already have) request a refund and buy on Steam instead? (Which is much more expensive.)

Help please?
