What happens when the bug occurs? 2 player career is greyed out unable to click on it. mail permanently loading cant look at the mail i got

Started a 2 player career recently with a friend and we've just got to china, we logged off for the night and the next day when i logged in, 2 player career was greyed out unable to click to continue with my friend, but on their end they are able to load into the 2 player lobby still with no issue.
Ontop of this im not sure if its connected but ive permanently got 1 mail in the menu and when i try to open the mail menu the game just keep continuously trying to load the mail and not going any further. when attempting to load the store page it says "checking privileges"
has anyone got a fix at all for this (preferably the 2 play career)
Ive reinstalled my game, tried verifying my files on steam still nothing at all that fixes this.
