Tricky: three in the lead and right now your defence is decisive.
But you're not first in terms of wins, or in terms of scoring goals.

8 goals in the last 3 matches. Looks like scoring form has returned on time. - LABoog49 months agoNew Ace
Scoring is improving and defense is staying strong. I think you are the new favorites for the title at this point.
QPR and Crystal Palace are major disappointments.

Absolutely. Been successful in avoiding defeat, so my big number of draws mean that both wins and losses are lower than those of my rivals.

I think so too. But it's been a little up and down for us, Blackburn and Coventry lately, taking turns to be number 1, 2 and 3. It's pretty close and very exciting. A few poor results, and the others will take the lead!
QPR are disappointing, yeah, but I'm speechless over Palace. That's not what I expected from them...

Funny, for the position of right back my final choice was between Bonnah and Afolayan. He was (still is) on my shortlist, as in my career a washlist of players will be a year before contract's end soon (which means it's time to extend or sell).

It is hard to make signings in the third tier that will make fans happy. Either the player is not good enough, or he's unheard of in most cases.

Afolayan as a right back? Interesting. He's listed as a winger or CF, so I hadn't considered using him that defensively. I have removed him from the front for the most part, often playing him as the RAM in my current formation. But I hadn't considered him in more defensive positions than that.

Yes, most players on my shortlist are listed as unavailable, possibly because League One is a step down for most or all of them.
Originally I was probably happy about staying in League One for two seasons, before taking another step up. But the above mentioned situation has certainly pushed to my eager to take that step as soon as possible.

Good progress in the cups, too.Yes, absolutely. I have quickly gone from being in no rush to force the promotion to soon to now really wanting it as soon as possible. The last two transfer windows have been disappointing in terms of not being able to sign 80-90% of the players on my shortlist. And these players just grow, becoming more expensive and perhaps out of reach, before I get the chance to sign any of them. The downside of wanting a slow climb, I suppose...

Uuuuh, that's tight, tight, tight!... (Tuco Salamanca, Breaking Bad)
Production is up but it is still your near perfect defence that is making the difference.

You'll find that, in the Championship, no player is 'unwilling to move'. Or, at least, hardly any.
It's one of those cliffe edge things.

Absolutely. Hehe, Tuco... Great character. Absolutely love the scene, where WW goes into his office and ends up blowing everything up with some chemical substance. At that point I thought there'd be more of that as the show progressed, but it was still a great show. Better Call Saul too, providing more background stories on the Salamancas, Fring, Mike E and Saul. In some ways I actually think BCS is better than BB.

Been there so many times in the past.Yeah, this is what I hope, and I think I've used your experiences on the matter as a testament of that. Now I'm eager to get that promotion ASAP, because you've said this a few times. So now it better be the case š

Nasty penalty makes you trip over Bolton, but the same three are keeping each other in check.

Absolutely. One of the three is going to end up disappointed.

Your great defense might be the difference in winning the league. I agree with @CO88LER5 , I have never had a keeper lead in clean sheets either. That is impressive.
With reaching the finals, does that congest your schedule at the end of the season or is it manageable still?

I probably won't in the league this season, having sold my first choice goalie in January. But I don't concede too many goals, sometimes making streaks of 5 or 6 games without conceding a goal. I believe 6 is my record in this save, across competitions.

I think it's all right. I'm one match behind Blackburn, and it seems I could fall two behind soon. But coming from behind with a game (or games) in hand has never hurt anyone. Just ask Man City. So it's still very manageable, I'd say.
