Fc24 Division Rivals

I'm only in division 10 and I'm struggling to find people, I asked my friend to play who is in division 10 as well, we found each other once perfectly fine and ever since we can't find each other, why? I think the matchmaking is too strict. In fifa 23 we had no issues with this, I worked out as long as your within 6 checkpoints then you will always find each other, please help.
