Ultimate Edition downloaded for my (parent) account and all works as expected.Login with child account and can't even launch the game.Need to lift parental restrictions to 12+ in order to have the game show up as an option to launch (it's a PEGI-3 rated game)No online play available at 12+ so removed all parental restrictions (now all set to "Don't Restrict") but still no option for online play, including UT.Keep getting an error message that "online service is disabled on your account for PlayStation Network due to parental control restrictions. See ea.com/unable-to-connect for additional information."EA Sports FC24 is clearly not following the parentl control restrictions as set by the PS4 platform.

Can someone from EA please take a look at this common issue with EA Sports FC24 not adhering to the parental restriction settings configured on the PS4 console and provide us with a solution or a timeframe for a resolution? In a nutshell: The game is rated PEGI-3 so should be able to be played by anyone over the age of 3 Unless the age restriction on a child account on PS4 is set to level 5 (12+) the game is not even able to be launched. Even if PS4 parental restrictions are removed completely (i.e. access to online game play is agreed) it is not possible for a child account to play online. That isn't true.. Under parental controls you can make exemptions via requests and grant access. This was possible with fifa 23

I had a hugely frustrating experience with support yesterday that doesn't recognise it as an issue. In short, they say it isnt permitted to allow children to play online via Ultimate team. Due to local government laws"COPPA imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age."When I pointed out this was only an issue with EA FC 24 and could still access and play via FIFA 23 they stated this shouldn't be possible.The way I accessed support was via the "I want a refund option" but not sure how far it will get you

Also having this exact same problem. I have tried all the steps you've mentioned but same issue with network features being disabled. Didn't have this issue with FIFA23.We also have a PS5 and it works fine on there with all the same accounts.Still an issue on v1.02.

This is appalling! It still does not work and ea seems to ignore the issue. Horrendous customer experience, and I have an extremely unhappy pre-teen here, who can't use his christmas present.

Same problem here, it has seriously ruined the Christmas spirit in my house, it is not OK that it offers online access to gaming and is PEGI 3 and yet not what it is sold as at all for the PS4. Very, very bad.

@freshies123 I'm new to playstation in general, first game I downloaded was fc24 as my son's loves footy...but I can only play in my parent account and it is locked in his level4 account. I have to say I was impressed when setting up all the profiles and parental controls...but then came across this hurdle on game one. I can't give my son higher level or online play for the time being. How frustrating...how does everyone else handle this?! Is this just a ploy to get people over to ps5?

I had the same issue on PS5 and the cause was that the child account's region was incorrect.
This could only be changed in Family Management on the PS5.

The issue is restriction of web browsing, if EA put up a verify pop-up then the console breaks it because of the web browsing restriction even though it's not typical web browsing which is what is supposed to be restricted. That's why is suddenly stops working because they randomly ask for verification from the adult. Switch off the restriction, do what they want, then put it back and it should be sorted.
