AI, Player Ratings, and Player Roles

All of the “features” that make FC25 “special” are designed to negatively impact User-controlled teams and benefit the CPU.

What’s the point of AI if it only applies to the CPU opponent? Only the CPU has any offensive or defensive intelligence. The CPU is never affected by the weather, like, The CPU can stop and change direction on a dime.

what’s the point of player ratings if they don’t correspond to impact in the pitch? In manger mode, players rated 67 score hat tricks on defenses with an average rating of 85+. If this happened once in a while I would understand, but it’s every game. User-controlled defenders with high defensive ratings get walked over

Team defense doesn’t exist. CPU-controlled offenses score on my team at will with only three attackers. My defenders are allergic to defending and walk/run away from ball carriers. They lose their mark like amateurs. Avenues to goal party like the Red Sea and the CPU gets open shots. It makes below average players look like ballon dor winners.
CPU defenses play as one. The back four hold the line and close ranks. Midfielders play close to the defense to make it harder for the offense to find space for spots and passes; even the worst defenders, such as Mbappe, press without getting tired
Player roles and tactics. I get the feeling that the CPU doesn’t have player roles. And the tactics don’t matter to them. CPU players get into attack position, find open space, or clog passing channels depending on their outfield role. User players don’t. I don’t care what a players role is, if the have a clear lane to the goal, realistically they wouldn’t just stand there: they would look to exploit it. I’d rather have no team tactics and players roles in replace of players and teams that do what professionals get paid to do.

Lastly is realism. Again, what’s the point of player ratings if they’re not realistic. Everyone who watches European football knows that Mbappe refuses to play defense. But in FC25 he’s a defensive machine.
On the other hand, whether a player like Mbappe is dribbling or not, there’s no way a player with a 60 stored rating is catching him, but it happens all the time. But if a user controlled player with a rapid Play Style is dribbling, he gets caught by a defender with 60 speed. Really?!

  • Offense is just easier that’s why there is always high scoring games. It should be more realistic by buffing defense but I think people like high scoring arcade games.

Based on the conditions I’ve described it’s clear that the CPU scores the goals and gets clean sheets because the game favors the CPU.
