Player Career Mode bug!

So I started a new player career mode with Liverpool (I like to play controlling my own player instead of the whole team), then I played the first Carabao cup game of the season and ended up drawing, so it went to penalties, but when the screen for selecting the strikers shows up I just can't advance, my controller is on but it just doesn't work

Has someone else have experienced this??? It's weird bc the game just received an update recently...
