This has started happening to me today too. I've re-installed the game, Javelin, repaired etc, nothing.
Gets to Press Any Key screen, then jumps quickly and loads a splash screen and crashes, with the Pegi 3 logo and some copy bottom left, and black elsewhere. Via EA App.
Unplayable.
