Unable to connect issue in FC25 showcase

I downloaded the fc25 showcase version today and when i opened the game i was met with an unable to connect error screen... i haven't used my ea account for any game before this, and i have no ban history.. i dunno what's the issue, i tried connecting in both ethernet and wifi, yet nothing seems to work. please help
