Done with this game

Hi,

I just want to leave a review of this game, it is a massive waste of time, money  and effort.

As such this would be the last iteration of the game that I'll be buying because, simply, there is no point of playing it.

The entire purpose of this game is to get you frustrated enough to start paying real money to buy points and packs, the entire ecosystem is pointed that way.

As one starts advancing in the Ultimate Teams Champions mode, he'd get paired with more difficult opponents with better players and, suddenly somehow someway, his own players get slower and game becomes less responsive... And thus, your 4-0 record suddenly becomes 4-4 or 5-5 and you'll probably finish the week 8-7 or 7-8 or 9-6 at best.

And let's talk about pack luck, how come every single opponent that a person faces in the Champions has a better squad ? And by "Everyone", I really mean everyone... How come does one has to face back-to-back-to-back-to-back teams with team of the year or with really special cards ?

Probability wise :

  • when one has a decent team that has employed all the relevant evos to improve the players, they should at least face some people like them from time to time... This is not the case at all for me, and this should be the case across multiple weeks and months in a row, i.e. a bigger sample size just proves the observation.
  • When one opens their objectives, Rivals or Champions rewards, they should see a decent reward from time to time... This is not the case for me as well, I only have seen bottom of the barrel kind of rewards... I don't even remember the last time I got a card from an ongoing event. This shouldn't be the case statically (since everyone I'm facing seem to have them in bulks)
  • When doing SBCs, the rewards as well are tragic when going for an SBC where the game will give you a "random" player or a hero... One seems to always get the worse.

As such, and given how probabilistically I seem to be very much disfavoured by this game and its "luck", I've decided that I won't be buying another iteration of it after I've got scammed this year.

This was one long rant, I apologize for that, but I wanted some place where I could share my thoughts.

Bye bye 🙂

  • The game is trash. You win one match, you lose the next. You get promoted, then immediately relegated. It feels scripted.

When the game decides you’re not meant to win, everything goes wrong. Your attackers stop making runs. When they receive a through pass, they start jogging instead of sprinting. Your defenders refuse to tackle, instead of closing down space, they literally move aside and let opponents walk through and score.

Sometimes the player you’re controlling suddenly abandons the attacker he was supposed to challenge and starts marking someone else entirely, leaving a clear path to goal. You make a clean tackle, and the ball magically rebounds straight back to the opponent, usually the one closest to your goal.

Your goalkeeper catches the ball, you don’t press any button, and somehow he automatically throws it directly to the opponent near the post… and that’s another goal conceded.

When your opponent plays a through pass, your defenders suddenly slow down while their attacker gets a speed boost you can’t match. But when you attempt the same pass, it either goes in a completely different direction or gets intercepted immediately.

Your players ignore the intended pass target and instead pass to someone surrounded by defenders. Your goalkeeper fumbles simple shots. When the game doesn’t want you to win, your players won’t tackle, won’t track runs, and sometimes even face the wrong direction.

Opponents commit rough tackles in their own box, no foul, no penalty, no card. But randomly, a defender you’re not even controlling brushes an opponent somewhere else, and suddenly it’s a penalty against you. And conveniently, there’s no proper replay shown.

There’s so much questionable scripting that it would take days to list everything.

I stopped buying after FIFA 23 because I’d had enough. But EAFC 26 promised improved gameplay, and I thought things had changed. Clearly, they haven’t. I won’t be buying any EA game anytime soon.

Football simulation games have been reduced to micro-transactions, and EA is the architect of it all.

  • The creators of this game have one luck that they are not within reach because I would have been arrested for physical assault. From the creators down to who ever approve this rubbish of a game and also the marketing team. Count your days. You guys should have just ended it at 25.
