Yup, couldn't agree more. I have always used "future players" or "young talent" born after January 2002 in every competitive game when playing the future stars league and now also the future stars Cup.
Im no where near as good a player as half the players that play the game and it makes it even worse when they are all using players that are veterans, icons, etc, not future stars, which I find bizarre as they are not completing any bonus quests, only knocking those out who are actively trying to do it properly with youth players.
As you mentioned, I was super excited for the second evolution as I completely ballsed up the first one not really knowing what I was doing, and used it on a random player I never use.
I started the youth cup strong with quite a good team mixed of 84's to 87's. I won the first two games against normal players who also had youth players. Very good games back and forth and was tight to the end. The first game 2-0 and the second game 1-0 in extra time. Amazing, im in the finals.
Well that's where the fun ended as the 3rd opposition was full icons and other fancy looking cards ending me 0-3 in the first 23 minutes . I think I touched the ball maybe 4 times but defo cudnt leave my own half.
Fine I lost to a player who doesnt use youth players, deal with it.
Next game same again. 0-3 34minutes
Next game same again 0-3 31minutes
Next game same again. 0-3 20 something minutes
I now have 2 entries left and my worst case scenario is now Win - win - lose - win - win - lose to get the evolution otherwise it's gone forever I guess. But I know 100% there will be more swets with players who shouldn't even be in the cup and I can kiss good bye to my second evolution.
My son who also plays the game was excited to retrain another player, however he's just a kid with next to zero experience in competitive, and won't be able to achieve this either. Thanks EA for letting us all down.
(I wonder if I can get a game playing in my sons under 7s team?. Based on EA logic, im sound.)
