Clarification on FC 26 Ultimate Edition Pre Order Rewards (Amazon Purchase)

I pre-ordered EA SPORTS FC 26 Ultimate Edition from Amazon before the August 26th deadline.

I have carefully read all the Terms & Conditions and disclaimers. Nothing states the game must be redeemed by August 26, only that it needs to be pre-ordered by that date. The actual redemption deadlines go well into 2026, so I believe I should qualify for the incentives.

What I don’t understand is how Amazon and EA work together to confirm this. Since Amazon has not yet provided my code, how does EA know that my order date was before the deadline so that my Ultimate Edition key will still unlock the ICON Player Item in FC 26 and the extra Evolution slot?

Amazon has confirmed their listing includes these rewards but they are still investigating internally. I just want reassurance that when I finally get my code and redeem it, I will receive the advertised rewards.

Thanks for any clarification.

Furthermore, the snippet about “only authorized online digital resellers of EA console games” is not in the disclaimer itself. It’s buried inside a collapsible section of a PC-focused help article about premium currencies and PC digital downloads. From a customer perspective, it’s not at all clear that this would apply to an Amazon Xbox pre-order.

Thanks for clarifying, but I still feel the wording of the disclaimer itself is misleading.

The disclaimer for the Early Bird promotion states that it’s valid for purchases from ea.com, the EA app, or participating retailers. It does not say that only the Microsoft Store (for Xbox) is valid, nor does it limit console purchases strictly to digital storefronts.

It also doesn’t mention anything about a redemption deadline — it only specifies that you had to pre-order or purchase before the cutoff date. From a customer perspective, buying the Ultimate Edition through Amazon before that deadline should reasonably qualify under “participating retailer.”

That’s why I’m asking for clarification: if Amazon Xbox purchases were never considered eligible, or if there was in fact a hidden redemption requirement, why wasn’t that made explicit in the disclaimer itself?

Thank you for your quick reply.

There is 100% no doubt that the Microsoft Store is the only authorized digital retailer on Xbox for EA Games. Amazon is only listed for PC only.

There is nothing we can do on our side if you made the purchase from another console retailer.

  • Thanks for the response. I understand your point about the “only authorized online digital resellers” being Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, and PlayStation Store — that makes sense when it comes to console digital storefronts.

What’s confusing is that I purchased the Xbox Ultimate Edition through Amazon, which I’ve always understood to be a participating retailer for EA games (since they sell physical copies and digital code cards). The disclaimers mention “ea.com, EA app, or participating retailers,” so it wasn’t clear whether Amazon purchases like mine were intended to be included in the Early Bird promotion.

I realize the code had to be redeemed by August 26th, but for my own clarity, could you confirm whether Amazon Xbox purchases ever qualified as participating retailer purchases for the Early Bird promotion? The way the guidance is worded feels misleading, and I want to make sure I fully understand.

I do intend to pursue this further if necessary, as from my perspective this comes across as mis-advertised.

Thanks again for helping clarify this.

    Hello jakeroy1997 ,

The legal disclaimer mentions that the Early bird Ultimate Edition promotion is valid for new purchases of EA SPORTS FC 26 ("Product") only from the ea.com store, EA app (ea.com/ea-app) or participating retailers.

The only authorized online digital resellers of EA console games are the Microsoft Store, the Nintendo eShop, and the PlayStationStore.
It is mentioned in our EA Help article here.

If Amazon advertised that you get the early bird content, then you need to reach out to them because the code had to be redeemed by the 26th of August.
