Nutmeg Skill – Feedback & Suggestions
First off, a huge thank you to the dev team for finally adding nutmegs as a recognised skill move in FC 26. It’s brilliant to see this iconic piece of football flair in the game for the very first time.
That said, after trying it out, I wanted to share some feedback and suggestions to help refine and expand this feature so it feels even more exciting and realistic.
Success Rate
- At the moment, nutmegs hardly ever come off.
- To keep it fun and balanced, please make it around a 50/50 chance instead of being so rare. That way, it remains exciting but not overpowered — perfect for both Career Mode players and online play.
- Or make it 50/50 for Career Mode and rarer for online.
- Please also consider giving us a settings option in Career Mode to tweak how often nutmegs can come off.
Controls
- Right now it’s L1 + R1 + right stick direction.
- It would feel quicker and more natural as L2 + flick stick. This would make the move more accessible during fast dribbles and tight situations.
Animations and Variations
- The current animation looks great, but it needs variations.
- For 1-star skillers: a simple nutmeg (basic push-through).
- For 4-star+ skillers: more advanced versions (ball roll into nutmeg, angled nutmegs, slip-throughs).
- Even for 1-star skillers, adding multiple variations would add surprise.
- Defenders should also have animations when beaten, such as legs opening too wide and losing balance.
- Attackers should show slight body feints when attempting nutmegs, to enhance realism.
Tactical Fouling
- Please bring back the ability to pull shirts (hold Square) when chasing a player.
- Tactical fouls are part of football and add depth to defending.
Extra Visual Details
- Shirt pull visuals: when sprinting and getting pulled, shirts should flap backwards with wind resistance.
- Slide tackles: let players actually slide off the pitch if they mistime or overcommit — more authentic and fun.
Why It Matters
Nutmegs aren’t just flair — they add that electric moment to one-on-ones on the wing or in midfield battles against the press. With proper tuning and animations, this could become one of the most exciting skill additions in EA FC history.
Once again, massive thanks for introducing this feature for the first time — now let’s make it happen
