This is a good post, hope they don't delete it because we have "opinions" !
I agree what's been said, maybe stopping relegations will make these players think about where they are. Better rewards in every division would be an incentive, as the rewards now are absolute garbage and really not worth the hassle of playing Rivals. The gap between 15 points and 30 points is very small as far as rewards go. I read the other day that matchmaking was the way it is (Bad and unfair) because less people are playing the game. It's been so bad this year, many players are going on to other games. That in itself makes sense and would explain the terrible matchups some of us are experiencing. I'm up and down between Division 9 and Division 8. I'm a pensioner, and not very good (IMHO) However it would be nice to play someone of similar level, to actually enjoy a game occasionally. Instead, i'm playing insane high rated teams (even in Div 9) and my opponents are doing all sorts of skills and stuff to show off. I message them occasionally to ask them why they are playing a pensioner from a low division, if they were as good as they make out. I'm yet to have a reply. I fail to understand why every year, this game get's so bad, yet EA don't seem to be wanting to improve things. For me, if I press tackle, i would like my defender to do so, if i press pass and point my stick, i would like the pass to go there. I feel if the game mechanics would let me do the simple things, i may not be losing most of my games.
