Due to the circumstances surrounding this World Cup in particular, it doesn't carry the same feeling or significance as those of the past. I personally wouldn't miss it at all, but I don't blame you for wanting it to feature. The best solution would be to have far more international teams and let us create our own World Cup, free of all the nonsense.
