Consistent issue connecting to EA FC 26 online matches from my home internet
I’m having a consistent issue connecting to EA FC 26 online matches from my home internet. The game connects to EA servers, but matchmaking fails or disconnects before starting a match.
I ran traceroutes to easo.ea.com (159.153.71.17) and found that my home connection (Ertelecom) suffers heavy packet loss on the route through RETN → Zayo (US) — up to 90% loss on nodes like ae26.cs3.iad93.us.eth.zayo.com and ae20.cr1.iad21.us.zip.zayo.com.
Average latency is around 170 ms, but the packet loss makes the connection unusable.
When I switch to mobile internet, the route goes through Telia / Lumen (EU) and works perfectly — no disconnects, matchmaking succeeds, and latency stays stable around 200 ms.
So it seems that EA’s current route from my ISP is going through a problematic U.S. transit provider (Zayo), while mobile networks use a European path that works fine.
