Controller disconnecting during rivals (PC)

This game is horrendous. Why is my controller disconnecting mid match in rivals. It has nothing to do with the USB C cable connecting the controller to my PC. It works in every other game perfectly fine, what is specific about FC26 which means it continuously disconnects during online matches. I have lost 5-6 matches now because of this, I can't just plug it back in, I have to restart my entire game for it to recognise the controller again.
