controller not working right

so i have just bought the game and downloadet it. when i decide to play i plug in my ps4 controller but it dont work right at all! ever time i move the joystick down and up in the menu and stuff it goes down 2 times and not one. its also a problem with them with moving them to the sides. whenever i move right it goes to the left and so it is oppisite. and it also displays as an xbox controller and i cant fix any of this please help me
