Cross-region match connection
Hi EA Support,
I'm experiencing extremely high ping in EA SPORTS FC 26 when playing Online Friendlies with a friend in India. I play from Vancouver, Canada, and my friend plays from India.
When I invite my friend, my ping is good but my friend's ping is around 248 ms. When my friend invites me, the problem reverses and my ping becomes extremely high. We have tested both invite directions multiple times.
My EA Connection Quality Report shows:
- Online Seasons: 15.56 ms ping
- Online Friendlies: 260.59 ms ping
- Other Friendlies matches: approximately 249–350 ms
I have also tested my PS5 directly connected by Ethernet to the main TELUS router, with approximately 797 Mbps download and 107 Mbps upload. The issue persists regardless of whether I use the TELUS Boost or a direct Ethernet connection.
Could you investigate the game data centre or connection routing used for these cross-region Friendlies matches? Is there any supported way to select a more suitable data centre for both players?
