FC 26 Lag/Bug
Dear EA Support Team,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding EA FC 26, which has been completely unplayable since the latest update. Despite spending over 4 hours researching and troubleshooting, including consulting ChatGPT for guidance, the game still cannot run properly. This has been extremely frustrating and a significant waste of my time.
Since the update, the game runs at around 7 FPS, while my GPU usage remains at 100% and CPU usage stays extremely low (~12%). This occurs on a system that meets all the game’s requirements:
- CPU: Ryzen 5
- GPU: GTX 1650
- RAM: 16 GB
I have attempted all standard troubleshooting steps, as well as several advanced measures, with no success:
- Verified game files through Steam; multiple files failed and were reacquired. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
- Fully deleted and reinstalled GPU drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), ensuring the latest official drivers were installed.
- Lowered all in-game graphics settings, reduced resolution, and disabled Ray Tracing, shadows, and post-processing effects.
- Applied Steam launch options (-dx11 and -fullscreen) and ensured the game runs in fullscreen at native monitor resolution.
- Adjusted performance power settings, NVIDIA Control Panel settings, and cleared caches.
- Closed all background apps and overlays (Discord, Chrome, etc.) and monitored my system with MSI Afterburner and HWInfo. GPU is maxed out while FPS remains extremely low, and CPU is barely being used.
- Verified hardware: GPU is properly seated and all power connections are secure.
In terms of gameplay, the problem is inconsistent but severe:
- Online Seasons sometimes works fine, but Ultimate Team is impossible to play due to extreme lag.
- Menus are very laggy; even before starting a match, I can tell performance is poor just by navigating the menus.
- I have had to leave over 30 games due to lag. In one instance, the game ran fine until half-time, but performance drastically dropped in the second half, forcing me to leave.
Despite all these efforts, the game remains unplayable, which strongly indicates that the performance issue was introduced by the latest update, not my hardware or system configuration.
Given the time I have invested and the severity of the problem, I am requesting:
- Immediate technical support to fix this performance issue.
- Escalation to the relevant EA engineering team if necessary.
- Guidance on how to fix this, and I have payed £50 to not enjoy the game i love.
I expect a prompt response, as this issue has rendered the game completely unplayable on a system that should run it without problems. I trust EA will address this urgently and provide a clear path to resolution.
