Game Crashing
Since purchasing the game at launch (general sale) I have experienced constant crashing of the game. I play on xbox series x with a wired connection, using an elite controller.
The game will freeze for a few seconds and then completely close taking me back to my xbox home screen. On rare occasions it has also caused my xbox to completely switch off.
This happens sporadically with no set pattern. Sometimes I can play for 4 hours with no issue, other times it happens every game I start up.
The crashing mostly happens during games but has also happened in menu screens. I play ultimate team only and it has happened on SBC screens and on the my team screen. It has also happened across basically all ultimate game types, everything from squad battles, rivals, champs and live tournaments.
When turning the game back on I always get the disconnection warning message.
I have tried every fix in the book but nothing has solved the issue. These include:
- Hard reset of console
- Clearing of cache (both by unplugging xbox for a couple of minutes and manually in settings)
- Resetting console to factory settings
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
- Clearing game data files
- Tested on a completely different network connection (at parents house - crashing happened there too).
- Ensured xbox and game software are up to date
- Ensured proper ventilation of my console, as well as cleaning of dust around vents. My console it say on a unit with nothing around it and never feels hot to the touch
I have no similar problems with other games, both local or online games.
I have tried chatting with an EA agent (which was near impossible to start a chat with) to solve the issue and they were unable to help other than to suggest everything i have already tried and suggest I post this on the forums. They were also unable to provide any kind of in game compensation to offset lost rewards in the various game mode, including Champs.
I have even tried to get a refund from Microsoft (as game was purchased on their store) but that was rejected.
Any other suggestions or help would be appreciated. Otherwise I feel like I am left either putting up with it or cutting losses and quitting the game and never purchasing an EA product again.
