Keyboard controls malfunction only in online modes (Seasons)
Hello everyone,
I have been playing EA SPORTS FC 26 on PC using my keyboard with arrow keys for movement and custom keybinds. Everything was working perfectly fine in both offline and online matches.
However, after I connected a gamepad (controller) to my PC just for testing purposes, the following problem started:
- In offline modes (kick-off, career mode, skill games), my keyboard settings work correctly.
- In online modes (Seasons), the keyboard controls are completely messed up. For example, moving up/forward is assigned to K and J instead of my chosen arrow keys. Other keys are also randomly remapped as if the game is forcing a controller layout on my keyboard.
What I have already tried (without success):
- Deleted the game, my profile, and save files.
- Removed all "ghost" controller entries from Windows Device Manager.
- Used Revo Uninstaller to completely uninstall Epic Games, EA App, and FC26, then reinstalled everything from scratch.
- Disabled all background controller-related software (vJoy, DS4Windows, etc.).
- Verified game files multiple times.
- Disabled Steam Input (even though I launch from EA App).
- Unplugged all USB devices except mouse and keyboard.
- Tried running the game as administrator.
- Clean boot of Windows.
The problem persists. It seems like the game "remembers" that a controller was once connected and forces controller mapping onto my keyboard in online matches only. Offline modes remain unaffected.
