Ps Tournaments

Why am I always eliminated from tournaments without even getting to playing....I'm told to join the match within 2 minutes when I do so it says waiting for match and then just says match canceled thereafter giving me a final placement minus failing to play????? Not the 1st time nor the 2nd nor the 3rd time this is happening
