Seasons Mode – Match Results Not Counting When Opponent Escapes

Hello EA Team,

I am experiencing a recurring issue in Online Seasons mode on PS5.

In many matches, when I am in a winning position (for example 2-0 or 3-0), my opponent suddenly escapes the game (force exits / disconnects). This can happen early in the match or even near the end (around 80+ minutes).

When this happens, the match is not counted as a win for me. In some cases, it feels like the match never existed at all, as there is no record of it in my history.

This issue happens frequently and negatively affects the competitive experience. Players who are losing can escape without any consequence, while the winning player is not rewarded.

Summary of the issue:

- Mode: Online Seasons

- Platform: PS5

- Situation: Opponent escapes (force exit / disconnect) while losing

- Result: No win is awarded, and sometimes no match record appears

- Frequency: Happens regularly

This might be a bug or a potential exploit. Either way, it creates an unfair environment and needs to be addressed.

Please investigate this issue and provide a fix.

Thank you.

Salih

    Platform: PlayStation 5
    Game: EA SPORTS FC 26
    Mode: Online Seasons

This issue is happening repeatedly to me.
In the attached video I am leading 5–4 at approximately 67 minutes when the connection to my opponent is suddenly lost. FC 26 displays that the connection to the other player was interrupted and that the match report will determine the result.

After returning to Online Seasons, the match was not counted and I received no win or three points.

This has already happened to me several times while I was winning, including previous matches where I was leading 6–4 in the 85th minute and 4–1 in the 31st minute.

Please investigate the server-side handling of opponent disconnects in Online Seasons. I have video evidence of this occurrence.

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue, and it has been happening repeatedly.

When I was in Division 2, I had to win around 30 matches before I finally managed to get promoted to Division 1. And I’m talking about 30 actual wins, not 30 matches played.

Since a season only has 10 matches, I had to go through multiple seasons winning a large percentage of my games, hoping that the opponents I was beating wouldn’t disconnect and make the match disappear. Eventually, I finally had one season where enough of my wins were actually registered for me to get promoted.

I’m now in my 5th or 6th season in Division 1. I’ve been playing well overall and have managed to stay in Division 1 consistently.

This particular season, however, I’m having a bad run. I’ve faced some very good opponents and I also haven’t been playing at my best, so I’ve lost several matches fairly — and I have absolutely no problem with that.

The frustrating part is that the few matches where I did play well and was winning — wins that would have been extremely important for keeping me in Division 1 during this bad run — were ALL lost because my opponents disconnected while losing and the game simply didn’t award me the win.

So legitimate losses are recorded normally, while some legitimate wins simply disappear.

At this point, this isn’t an occasional connection issue. It has happened to me far too many times. Players are clearly taking advantage of the way FC 26 handles certain disconnects to avoid receiving a loss, while the player who was winning gets nothing.

This completely ruins the competitive integrity of Online Seasons.

EA needs to investigate this. If an opponent deliberately disconnects while losing, the player who stayed in the match and was winning should receive the win. It’s ridiculous that players can abuse this repeatedly with no consequence.

  • Im having the same issue on Ultimate team any online game, it gets to second half and whether im winning or losing it always disconnects around or before minute 75. It has happened so much I started clipping them and I have over 5 clips already started this past weekend. Very discourgin I reached out to EA support all they say is to power cycle PS5 and router when I know that is not the issue they also told me change my dns and rebuild my database on PS5 but nothing is working very annoying.

the error message it gives me is "you lost your connection to your opponent Wel'' check the match report to see who won and who lost" and then right away it auto clears and the next message is "your match result is currently under review. You will be returned to FUT home"
