Severe FPS drop after halftime, persists until game restart

Platform: PC (EA App)
GPU: RTX 3050 Ti
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX
RAM: 32GB
Windows: 11

FPS drops from 60 to 5-15 immediately when the second half starts.
This happens both offline and online.
Restarting the game is the only temporary workaround.
The FPS drop persists until the game is restarted.  This makes the game unplayable, as I cannot complete a single match.
