Severe server-side input delay in all online modes
Hello EA Support Team,
I am writing to report a critical and persistent issue with online gameplay in FIFA 26 on PC, which has been ongoing for approximately one month.
Issue duration:
~1 month, occurring consistently at different times of day (morning, afternoon, evening, late night).
Problem description:
There is a severe input delay in all online modes (Ultimate Team, Seasons, Clubs).
Button inputs are executed with a delay of approximately 5–10 seconds, making online gameplay unplayable.
At the same time:
- Offline modes work perfectly
- Rush mode works perfectly
- Menus work perfectly
- FPS is stable, no stuttering or performance drops
Very important observation:
During online matches, when the opponent becomes inactive (for example, controls only the goalkeeper or provides no inputs for 1–2 minutes), my input delay temporarily disappears and the controls become responsive again.
As soon as the opponent resumes normal gameplay, the severe input delay (5–10 seconds) immediately returns.
This behavior strongly suggests a server-side synchronization or input queue issue, rather than a local hardware or performance problem.

- Platform: PC (Steam)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
- RAM: 16 GB
- Storage: SSD
- CPU: Intel Core i5 (exact model unknown, but performance is stable)
- Controller: DualSense (wired via USB, no Bluetooth)
- Connection: Wired LAN (no Wi-Fi)

- In-game ping: 9–10 ms (green connection indicator)

Troubleshooting already performed:
- Disabled Steam Input for FIFA 26
- Changed DNS to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4)
- Closed all background applications
- Tested multiple graphic settings (Low / Medium / High)
- Tested different times of day
- Verified that the issue occurs only in online matches
- Confirmed that offline and Rush modes are not affected
Despite the low ping and stable connection, the input delay persists exclusively in online gameplay across all modes.
