Stuck in "Session Ghost" for 32+ hours"Connection to Ultimate Team not possible"

Hi everyone,

​I am writing this because I’ve been unable to access Ultimate Team on my main account for over 32 hours (since yesterday, 11:00 AM).

​The game keeps telling me: "You are already logged into Ultimate Team on another device" or "Connection to Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment."

​Here is the situation:

​My other accounts work perfectly on the same console (PS5), so it’s not a connection or hardware issue.

​There are NO BANS or sanctions on my account (checked via EA Help "Ban History").

​I was playing between New-Gen and Old-Gen versions when the issue started.

​Everything I’ve already tried (without success):

​Changed my EA password and removed all trusted devices.

​Logged out and uninstalled the Companion App/Web App.

​Power-cycled the console (unplugged for 30+ mins).

​Deleted all squads via the Web App (as suggested by a chat agent).

​Contacted EA Help Chat 4 times – the last agent (Atul) told me he couldn't do anything and sent me here.

​It seems my account is stuck in a "Ghost Session" on the server side. It refuses to time out. Can a Community Manager please look into my Case

  • Thanks for the reply. I’ve just tried all your suggestions:

    ​I created a new empty squad and listed a player on the transfer market via the Web App.

    ​I tried the 'back-to-back' method (over 10 rapid login attempts on the console).

    ​Regarding your question, the issue has been happening on both Old-Gen and New-Gen versions from the very beginning, so the problem is definitely linked to my account ID on both versions.

    ​Unfortunately, nothing has worked so far.

    ​As you suggested, I am now going to stop all login attempts (Console, Web App, and Companion) for a full 24 hours to let the server session clear itself. I will report back tomorrow to let you know if the 'stuck' state has finally refreshed.

    Hey RyadZoyte​,

    Sorry to hear you're running into trouble with this. I do see you've mentioned already deleting all squads - can you try specifically creating an empty squad (delete all squads again if you've created others since) and logging back into Ultimate Team? That's been known to help in similar situations.

    Are you seeing this on both old/new gen versions, or have you been testing on one or the other? Another option is to try signing into UT on a different platform entirely. If you can get in on another platform, back out to the main menu and close the game before retrying on your normal platform.

    Aside from deleting squads and recreating an empty one, any other changes you can try on the web app that might affect the state of your club can be worth a shot as well - changing or renaming the active squad, listing and removing a player from the transfer market, etc.

    Trying multiple logins in quick succession can also sometimes clear this up, so that would just be launching UT, seeing the error, then backing out and trying again immediately - not always successful, but there have been a handful of situations where back-to-back attempts force any stuck sessions to close after a solid ~10 attempts in quick succession. That may be worth a try if you've gone through all those other steps already.

    I'd definitely be sure not to continue trying rapid logins if the last step above doesn't do the trick, as that can also sometimes keep refreshing this "stuck" state. Letting it go a full 24 hours without the login attempt can let that clear as well.
