Sudden FPS Drops to 20 FPS Despite Normally Getting 150+ FPS

I’m experiencing a strange and intermittent FPS issue specifically when playing Clubs.

The game runs normally in the main menu and before entering a match, at around 150+ FPS. However, when a Clubs match starts, the game can suddenly drop to around 20 FPS and become extremely laggy.

This does not happen in every match. Sometimes the match runs normally at 150+ FPS, while other times the FPS suddenly drops to around 20 FPS when the match starts.

This is not a case of my PC simply being unable to run the game, since it normally runs at around 150+ FPS.

My PC specs are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB
RAM: 16 GB
Monitor: 200 Hz
Resolution: 1920x1080
OS: Windows 11

I play with all graphics settings on Low and use Windowed mode. I use Windowed mode because my 200 Hz monitor only allows me to select 165 Hz when the game is running in fullscreen mode.

I also avoid using Alt+Tab while playing, so I’m not frequently switching between the game and other applications.

I have already tried restarting the game/PC and updating my GPU drivers.

Has anyone experienced this issue specifically in Clubs, where the game runs normally in the menu but suddenly drops to around 20 FPS when a match starts? Any ideas what could be causing this?
