Challengers Entry Requirement - match didn't count (so can't complete anymore)

Had this weird issue.. 

I was in division 7 (needed 2 more wins to promote to division 6). Then this objective came live and I was like: yeah I can still complete this. So I played my first match, I finished with a draw so still needed 2 wins to promote. The match after that I won and the objective said 2/3 matches played (so far so good).
Then I played the promotion match to promote to division 6 (so still in 7..) and won that so I got promoted. I checked the objective and it's still on 2/3 matches played in division 7 or lower 😔.

Since you also can't relegate from division 6 to 7 it's impossible to complete these objectives now and play these matches for rewards and packs.

The promotion match should count as a match in that division right or am I thinking wrong?!
