My experience with “Balance Transfer” and EA Help (update)

I’m posting this because I suspect my experience may not be unique, and I’d like to hear from other FC 26 players who received Transfer Market sanctions for “Balance Transfer” / “ECONOMIC_ADVANTAGE.”

On August 4, my Transfer Market access was restricted. I have never bought coins, transferred coins between accounts, or intentionally participated in coin distribution. I trade extensively on the market for profit, so I wanted to understand which activity triggered the enforcement.

That turned into a surprisingly difficult process. I submitted multiple appeals and repeatedly received essentially the same response: EA had “carefully reviewed” the case and confirmed the sanction. The problem is that I was never told which transaction or activity was considered a Balance Transfer.

So I tried another route.

I requested my EA Account data and specifically asked for the Transfer Market transaction/activity telemetry and internal account records associated with the enforcement decision. EA Help advisors verified my account, created/escalated data requests and told me that the relevant team would handle them. What I eventually received was the standard EA Account data export. It identifies the enforcement as:

Game: FC26
Platform: PSN
Reason: ECONOMIC_ADVANTAGE

But it does not contain the underlying Transfer Market transactions or activity that caused that classification. I then contacted EA Help again specifically explaining that the standard export was not what I was requesting. More cases, chats and escalations followed. Some cases were marked resolved, closed or duplicate without the requested data being provided. I have now submitted another appeal asking for something very simple: Please manually review the specific transactions that triggered the enforcement. I’m attaching a diagram showing the process I have gone through because explaining it in text has honestly become ridiculous.

For reference, one of the relevant EA Help/data-request cases is #252714889.

I’m not posting this to encourage harassment of EA employees or to claim that every enforcement action is wrong. Automated enforcement is obviously necessary in a market like Ultimate Team. My concern is different:

  1. If a legitimate player is incorrectly classified as performing a Balance Transfer, is there actually an effective way to challenge that classification?
  2. If the appeal only confirms the original decision without identifying the relevant activity, and the data-access process does not provide the underlying transaction data either, the player appears to be stuck in a loop.

And with FC 26 approaching the end of its lifecycle, waiting weeks matters. I also have significant value tied up in players/items that I cannot normally trade because of the restriction.

So I’d genuinely like to hear from others:

Have you received a Balance Transfer / ECONOMIC_ADVANTAGE sanction in FC 26? Were you ever told which transaction triggered it? Did anyone successfully get such a sanction manually reviewed or reversed? If this is happening to multiple legitimate traders, I think it deserves a broader discussion.

Update 25.8: I wrote an Article about this, pelase share if you are with me in this: https://medium.com/@krybernat/the-ai-bureaucracy-trap-what-happens-when-there-is-no-human-left-who-can-help-9cd3f3460c31

Hi my friend. First if all, what did you write exactly to the first appeal? Seems from what I discovered they only reed first appeal, max second. Try to ask for your data from dpo department mailto:[edit: email address removed] and then use it as reference point for second appeal. That’s what I would do. The answer usually takes about 24h. Good luck!

    Please don't spread misinformation krybernat

All appeals are reviewed by a human member of the team.

ThanksEA_Darko - fair correction. I should phrase that more carefully.

I cannot know whether a human opens every appeal, and as you previously explained, Community Managers cannot see the account evidence or discuss the sanction itself.

What I can say from my own experience is that the responses gave me no indication that the specific points I raised were actually addressed. I submitted different information, asked specific questions and later even obtained the transaction data through my data request, yet the appeal responses remained generic and did not engage with any of those points.

So perhaps the distinction is: I am not claiming that no human opens the appeal. I am questioning whether the process gives the player any meaningful way to know that their actual arguments and evidence were considered.

If every appeal really receives a substantive human review, is there any way for the player to receive even a brief response addressing the specific evidence they submitted, rather than the same generic decision?

I think that would prevent exactly the impression you are calling misinformation here.

Hey krybernat we can see info around why an action has been talked, we simply can't discuss it due to account security.

The team do not go into detail around the issue and use formatted and prewritten replies to ensure uniformity across replies.

If the team declines an appeal then it means their review found evidence that supports the ban.

Thanks EA_Darko. But I think this is exactly the issue.

If the reviewer sees the evidence, but the player receives only a prewritten response that does not address anything they submitted, there is no meaningful communication between the two sides.

How can a player make a better second appeal if they are never told what was wrong with the first one or what evidence they need to explain?

I don't doubt that something happens internally. I'm questioning whether an appeal process without any feedback can actually function as a meaningful appeal.

Exactly, it's a flawed system designed to find anyone guility without presenting any evidence because they are "trade secrets". Darko is of no use here as they're not even prepared to raise this with the relevant channels. Just keep a lid on mass bans regardless of who gets caught in it.

    Hi krybernat

Are you still banned at the moment?

The 1st and 2nd appeal, I was just saying they were wrong. The 3rd one I just made it slightly different and yes, I did ask for my data and the proof for the accusation.

This is so wrong, heaps of the YouTubers out there promoting and selling coins, but EA banned someone like me who didn't even have friends in the game. And of couse, never bought any coins.

hi LovSaikaKawakita still banned. After like 15 times they even disabled possibility to reappeal and from the beggining the disabled the possibility to communicate with them via EA help.

Going to go ahead and lock this as at this point it's just full of misinformation and needs to be moderated on a consistent basis.

If you have a ban on your account, then you need to appeal with the team using the steps we have shared.

If the team declines your appeal, then it means that their investigation found evidence to support the ban. In cases where this occurs they will not remove a ban or suspension.
