FC 27 compatibility issue
Hello EA Support and FC 27 development team,
I am reporting a serious PC compatibility issue with FC 27.
The game does not launch at all on my system. EA App starts the game normally and shows that the game is launching. EA AntiCheat/Javelin also starts, but then the game immediately closes and I am returned to the EA App without any visible error message.
After checking Windows Event Viewer, I found the following application error:
Exception code: 0xC000001D
This corresponds to an Illegal Instruction exception.
My system specifications are:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 2048SP
- RAM: 16 GB DDR3
- OS: Windows 11 64-bit
- DirectX: DirectX 12
I have already tried the usual troubleshooting steps, including:
- Repairing the game through the EA App
- Reinstalling EA AntiCheat
- Restarting the computer
- Checking the game files
- Checking Windows Event Viewer
- Correcting and synchronizing the Windows system time
- Launching the game again after the above steps
None of these solved the problem.
The important point is that the official FC 27 PC system requirements list processors such as the Intel Core i5-6600K as the minimum CPU, but they do not explicitly state that AVX2 is required.
My i7-2600K supports AVX, but it does not support AVX2. The 0xC000001D exception strongly suggests that the game or one of its components may be attempting to execute a CPU instruction that is not supported by the processor.
This is particularly concerning because the game does not simply show a clear message saying that the CPU is unsupported. Instead, it launches, AntiCheat starts, and then the executable immediately terminates.
I would therefore like EA to clarify the following:
1. Does FC 27 require AVX2?
2. If AVX2 is required, why is this not clearly stated in the official PC system requirements?
3. Is the 0xC000001D crash on older Intel CPUs a known issue?
4. Is EA working on a compatibility fix or fallback executable for CPUs without AVX2?
5. If AVX2 is not required, what exactly is causing the 0xC000001D exception on these CPUs?
6. Could EA investigate this issue specifically on older CPUs such as the i7-2600K, i7-3770 and similar processors?
I understand that the i7-2600K is an old processor, but if AVX2 is a hard requirement, this should be clearly communicated in the official requirements so players can know before downloading and installing a 100 GB game that their system may not be compatible.
I also want to point out that this does not appear to be an isolated case. Other users with older Intel processors have reported the same 0xC000001D launch crash.
I would appreciate it if this could be investigated by the FC 27 PC team and, if possible, officially clarified.
Thank you.
Hey 5d89an6wedg2,
Unfortunately, your CPU is about 4 years older than the minimum required CPU in our system requirements. It looks like you're running DDR3 memory, but DDR4 memory is a minimum requirement as well. Sorry to say, but the GPU is also just below the performance of our minimum required GPU.
Sadly in this case, the system you've listed here just falls short of the requirements at multiple points. If you upgrade or play on a system that meets the listed requirements and still run into any issues, please feel free to let us know and we'll be happy to take a look at that point. You can check all the requirements below, thanks!
