"Performance issue detected" freezes on PC - EA connection score 99/100
In online matches the "Performance issue detected" warning shows up, the game freezes for a few seconds, then plays back in fast motion until it catches up. It makes matches unplayable. It is not my connection: my EA Connection Quality Report for FC 27 shows a 99/100 score (ping 3.35 ms, jitter 0.15 ms, packet loss 0.01%, Ethernet). Screenshot attached.
My PC:
- CPU: Intel i7-12700 (12th gen)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB (Adrenalin 26.8.1, up to date)
- RAM: 32 GB, dual channel
- Storage: SSD only
- Monitor: 1080p 165 Hz with FreeSync (second monitor connected)
What I've tried (none of it fixed the freezes):
- Turned off every overlay: Steam, Discord (new and legacy) and the AMD in-game overlay.
- Graphics settings: fullscreen at native 1920x1080, VSync off, dynamic resolution off.
- Frame cap: 165 FPS through Radeon Chill, then only the in-game limiter (Chill off). Now testing 120 FPS.
- Turned off Radeon Super Resolution for the game profile.
- Also failed in borderless/maximized window, not just fullscreen.
- Ran a continuous ping during a full match: zero packet loss and no spikes at the exact moment of the freeze.
Players on PS5 and Xbox report exactly the same symptom, so this looks like a game or server-side issue, not a PC or network problem. Can EA confirm it's being investigated, and is there an ETA for a fix?
