Regional EA SPORTS FC 27 Routing / Input Delay Problem – Iraq
Hello EA Community Managers and EA SPORTS FC Network Team,
I am reporting a regional connectivity and gameplay responsiveness issue affecting EA SPORTS FC 27 players in Iraq.
I have already contacted EA Help and was transferred to the technical support team. The advisor acknowledged the report, documented the issue, and advised me to raise it here so that the Community Managers and relevant EA teams can investigate it.
The problem
Players in Iraq are experiencing severe gameplay delay even when their internet connection itself is stable.
Symptoms include:
- Delayed passing and shooting
- Delayed player switching
- Heavy/sluggish player movement
- Noticeable controller input delay
- Gameplay that feels significantly delayed despite apparently acceptable/stable network conditions
This is being experienced by multiple players, not just one EA account or one home network.
We believe the issue may involve the routing/peering path between Iraqi ISPs and the EA SPORTS FC game data centers, or the data-center/ping-site selection being used for Iraqi players.
Connections from Iraq appear in some cases to be taking routes toward Turkey/Istanbul, and the resulting gameplay experience is extremely poor.
This needs to be investigated regionally
However, when multiple players and connections experience similar FC-specific behavior, we need assistance from EA to determine where the problematic path actually occurs.
We are therefore asking EA’s networking/game-data-center team to investigate:
- Which EA SPORTS FC data center(s) players from Iraq are currently being assigned to.
- The routing and peering paths being used from Iraqi networks to those data centers.
- Whether Iraqi players are being routed to the optimal Middle East data center.
- Whether there is abnormal latency or routing through Turkey/Istanbul or another intermediate location.
- Why significant input delay can occur even when the displayed in-game ping is relatively stable.
- Whether EA can work with affected Iraqi ISPs to identify and improve the route.
We can provide technical information if an EA network engineer or Community Manager requires it, including:
- ISP/ASN
- Public IP ranges where appropriate
- Traceroute/MTR results
- EA Connection Quality Reports
- Ping, jitter and packet-loss measurements
- Match timestamps
- Screenshots/videos
- Results from multiple affected Iraqi players and different ISPs
This is not a request for normal home-network troubleshooting.
We are asking for a regional routing/peering investigation for Iraq.
If an EA Community Manager sees this, please forward this report to the EA SPORTS FC networking/infrastructure team or tell us exactly what technical measurements your networking team requires. We are willing to cooperate and provide the necessary network data.
Other players from Iraq experiencing this problem: please reply with your city, ISP, platform, typical FC ping, and whether you experience input delay/heavy gameplay.
Thank you.
