Glorious Eras – What Do You Think of the Event So Far?

The Glorious Eras event is still underway, letting us relive iconic moments from Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern München, and Juventus through themed chapters, retro kits, and historic matches.

We’d love to hear your thoughts:

  • Which club chapter has been your favourite so far, and why?
  • What do you like most about the event — the matches, the kits, the player items, or something else?
  • Is there anything you think should be improved or adjusted in future events?
  • Are there other clubs or eras you’d like to see featured next time?

Feel free to share your opinions, ideas, and suggestions — your feedback helps shape future events.

Appreciate there's something a bit different being done regarding daily activities and the featured match. Retro kits are fun for an oldie like me. Surely Owen should have been in the Liverpool section though?

That's about the only positive thing I've got I'm afraid. Gameplay is still horrendous with no way it could be fixed without a whole new game engine, which is never going to happen. Don't particular want any of the players as the only 5 star WF CM (the position I need next in my team) is behind a pay wall. Pack odds are through the floor so no chance of getting a good amount of shards together.

If this event is a sign of the way the game's heading, I'm out

  • My opinion: meh. Not very much fun to play. Awards are mediocre. I already claimed everything in the latest rewards chapter, still about 3000 useless points left now.

  • The glorious eras packs are just garbage. There should be some randomness to the card you are handed to be slightly viable as a gem spend. Like it does not even make sense to spend gems on these packs at the moment they are so rigged you just know you are getting either Dante, Danjuma, Sow, Chilwell or Coady and Sidibe from the 107+ packs. Its completely ludicrous as an event and not worth spending a single gem/ ea point on any further. This is simply not working as a business model since we already know what we are getting with 99% probability from each pack since it has been proven on innumerable videos and posts mentioning this. There is no point to continue unless you have enough gems or ea points to purchase the black Friday type packs where the chance to get the elite players increases the more packs you open so as to make it certain. At the moment there is simply no enticement for ftp player to purchase ea points or spend gems on packs other than black Friday 30K pack which eventually will net you elite players. Also it completely ruins the excitement of opening a pack which was in previous events such an alluring prospect that kept us all playing, the thought of receiving one of the elite players in a walkout.. now we just know it will be the lowest maybe 19/20 times then the other it will be just a few ovr higher. Theres no point to keep playing this game unless you have money to regularly spend on ea points and on the best packs. Even glorious box is pay to get now where as previous this sort of reward would be like a side quest.

    Yup, couldn’t agree more.

That this question is being asked while repeated calls to fix the game engine go unacknowledged (let alone fixed) says everything you need to know about EA and its relationship with its customers. Does EA honestly think that we’ll forget how crappy the gameplay is if they just roll out the perfect event???

I could waste my time listing my indictments of this event (the best players residing behind a $100 paywall tops the list!), but why bother? What’s the point in making suggestions on where the deck chairs should be placed when the “Titanic” is sinking?

EA, if you want to create value for your customers then make the matchplay FUN! Like the man said — fix the game engine! I would pay for this game if it guaranteed consistently fun (and not infuriating) play. Every player card would hold more value if the game mechanics actually worked. Conversely, no amount of gimmicky event design is going to make people overlook a broken game engine.

Not broken, rather borderline manipulative and toxic.

What I will add as an observation, the badge system has shown that as soon as you click the gem/player pack the system automatically knows whether it's a new player or not (the bar in the top right corner appears if it's a player you've not packed before)

It shows this as soon as the button is pressed, even if there's a few bronze/silver players and the event player is in the bonus pack. Clicking the bonus pack is a waste of time at this point as the system has already shown you whether it's a new player or not.

This, in my eyes, also calls into question is the return from your pack already decided before you click the purchase button?

Positives: There is something to play for everyday in this event.  I like the embedded videos, it looks awesome.  And the trivia questions are fun.  Cards are decently priced in terms of shards, not over expensive.

Cons:  Too difficult for F2P players to get decent amount of shards and as pointed above too much repetitive card draws a big let down.  Events more and more going behind paywalls but I dont see reason to spend as its worthless after a season or so.  No F2P guy could attain the 3rd level of the badge.  Too many of the same player cards.. and some cards have high ovr but stats aren't that gr8.

Please fix the last Juventus game as I keep scoring with a header but it just keeps saying that I failed. A lot of people are having the same issue

  • Very disappointing (but not at all surprising) that all the best players could only be obtained by essentially spending real money. More and more of the best players seem to be behind a paywall. The remaining new players weren't worth putting the effort in for

  • Not a great event in the end. It had a very strong and positive start, but then the week arrived with the featured signature Alex Del Piero, who was only available via pack luck in Black Friday packs with low drop rates, whereas Gerrard/Kahn/Raul were obtainable via badges, so through a grindable, guaranteed path. For that change alone, the event should be rated 0, irrespective of some good and interesting new event ideas/designs.

Q1 -> None, pretty much a skippable event. It has to be said that if ADP was available like the other three players, then Juventus would be my pick. But obtainable non-signature ADP was only 112, vs the other three featured cards at 115. Then, the lack of a guaranteed path for ADP (not even behind a paywall) turned it into I wish I did not play the initial 3 weeks of the event.  For most players, the chapters/weeks had little reason to play the game unless they supported one of the three featured clubs. At the end of the day, the Juve supporters were shafted.

Q2 -> This could have been structured as a side event, similar to Nations, where EA releases one club every few weeks, while UCL/UEL/UECL remain the main events. Challenges (excluding bugged and non-factual ones) and squad requirements were the positive re-addition to the mix.

Q3 -> The game needs less emphasis on visuals and more focus on gameplay fixes (AI interfering with manual players' inputs) and bug removal. Various factual challenges using players/teams as a requirement will always be welcome, as these generally stimulate the market. Challenges in relation to historical events need to be factual. Unfortunately, that was far from it in both Record Breakers and Glorious Era. Furthermore, the difficulty of challenges should be toned down, e.g., the Ultimate Weekend Challenges are still very difficult.
Drop rates and probabilities require review and last but not lease, back-to-back Icons repetition needs to stop, some notable examples: Chiellini and Zidane (111/113/115), Nedved (111/112/115), Kahn (110/111/115), Thuram and Cannavaro (113/115), Beckham (almost every OVR between 99-115).

Q4 -> Juventus should be revisited due to the Del Piero acquisition path being pack-only, while the other featured players were obtainable through badges.

Subsequently, review historically successful clubs, starting with Ajax, Porto, and PSG from other major European leagues.
Then progress through the leagues, including a second pass on previously featured leagues: Barca, BVB, AC Milan, etc.
Include lesser-known or smaller leagues and their successful teams: the Scottish league with Celtic, the Croatian league with Dinamo Zagreb, and the Polish Ekstraklasa with Legia.
