Not a great event in the end. It had a very strong and positive start, but then the week arrived with the featured signature Alex Del Piero, who was only available via pack luck in Black Friday packs with low drop rates, whereas Gerrard/Kahn/Raul were obtainable via badges, so through a grindable, guaranteed path. For that change alone, the event should be rated 0, irrespective of some good and interesting new event ideas/designs.
Q1 -> None, pretty much a skippable event. It has to be said that if ADP was available like the other three players, then Juventus would be my pick. But obtainable non-signature ADP was only 112, vs the other three featured cards at 115. Then, the lack of a guaranteed path for ADP (not even behind a paywall) turned it into I wish I did not play the initial 3 weeks of the event. For most players, the chapters/weeks had little reason to play the game unless they supported one of the three featured clubs. At the end of the day, the Juve supporters were shafted.
Q2 -> This could have been structured as a side event, similar to Nations, where EA releases one club every few weeks, while UCL/UEL/UECL remain the main events. Challenges (excluding bugged and non-factual ones) and squad requirements were the positive re-addition to the mix.
Q3 -> The game needs less emphasis on visuals and more focus on gameplay fixes (AI interfering with manual players' inputs) and bug removal. Various factual challenges using players/teams as a requirement will always be welcome, as these generally stimulate the market. Challenges in relation to historical events need to be factual. Unfortunately, that was far from it in both Record Breakers and Glorious Era. Furthermore, the difficulty of challenges should be toned down, e.g., the Ultimate Weekend Challenges are still very difficult.
Drop rates and probabilities require review and last but not lease, back-to-back Icons repetition needs to stop, some notable examples: Chiellini and Zidane (111/113/115), Nedved (111/112/115), Kahn (110/111/115), Thuram and Cannavaro (113/115), Beckham (almost every OVR between 99-115).
Q4 -> Juventus should be revisited due to the Del Piero acquisition path being pack-only, while the other featured players were obtainable through badges.
Subsequently, review historically successful clubs, starting with Ajax, Porto, and PSG from other major European leagues.
Then progress through the leagues, including a second pass on previously featured leagues: Barca, BVB, AC Milan, etc.
Include lesser-known or smaller leagues and their successful teams: the Scottish league with Celtic, the Croatian league with Dinamo Zagreb, and the Polish Ekstraklasa with Legia.
