The Urgency to Revamp or Remove VS Attack Mode in FC Mobile
Hello fellow Managers,
I'm starting this discussion because, like many of you, I've hit a wall of frustration with the current state of the VS Attack (VSA) mode in FC Mobile. While I appreciate the concept of a fast-paced, turn-based competitive mode, the current implementation is fundamentally flawed, especially for a ranked system that is crucial for team development.
I have achieved Champion rank in both Head-to-Head (H2H) and Manager Mode, so I believe my assessment of my own skill level is fair—this isn't simply a case of poor gameplay. The core issue lies entirely within the Chances System of VSA.
1. The Broken Chances System: Where is the Fairness?
The VSA mode could be genuinely engaging and fun IF the system for generating chances were truly equitable.
The Problem: The current system does not provide an equal competitive challenge. It’s called "VS Attack," yet both sides face vastly different difficulty levels based on the opponent's OVR and the quality of chances generated.
The Ask: Why should two players in a "versus" mode be presented with challenges that are so dramatically weighted? The entire system needs an overhaul to ensure that players are competing on a truly level playing field, where skill in execution matters more than the inherent quality of the chances received.
2. OVR Differences vs. Unfair Game Mechanics
I am fully prepared to face opponents with a higher Overall Rating (OVR) and stronger players. That is part of the grind in any competitive game. However, this acceptance comes with a crucial condition: The game mechanics must be consistent and fair for both players.
It is acceptable to lose because my opponent's defenders are faster, or their striker has a better shot power. It is not acceptable to lose because 70% of my "Great Chances" start with a defender right in front of me, while my opponent gets an open net 90% of the time. This is a game design failure, not a skill gap.
3. The Pay-to-Win Wall (P2W) and Rank Inaccessibility
I consider myself a hybrid player—someone who spends some money on the game while also grinding heavily. However, in VSA, the balance is heavily skewed:
90% of the time, the player who spends more money will win. The remaining 10% are simply those who get lucky with chances.
VSA is a RANKED MODE, and climbing the ranks is essential for collecting rewards needed to improve the team (Training, Rank-up items, etc.).
Players with a modest team, or even those who spend but have been unlucky with their pack pulls/market purchases, face a near-impossible climb. The lack of fair chances acts as a gatekeeper, preventing progression for non-whale players.
Conclusion: We Need Real Competition and Fun
When a core competitive mode consistently generates more frustration than enjoyment, the developers must take a serious look at its foundation. VSA, in its current state, only creates resentment every time the chances pop up and I see the massive disparity.
Acceptable: Losing due to my own lack of skill/execution.
Unacceptable: Losing due to a massive, systemic chance imbalance dictated by the game's flawed design.
I urge EA to reconsider the mechanism of VS Attack. We want a truly fair, competitive, and fun game that rewards skill and smart management, not just the size of one's wallet or random luck with the chances generator.
