Thanks for sharing the details. Could you try logging in with Facebook instead of your EA account? Please try this once or twice and let me know how it goes.

hi again EA_Pulsar this is me trying to login with my Facebook account instead, I made several attempts, with the same result. I also tried the Google play method but no luck either.

also EA_Pulsar following a troubleshooting article I saw, I created a new EA account to see if the issue is with my account, device or Internet connection. The new account logged in without any issues at all. I guess this suggests that the problem is with my original account. I can't throw it away as I'm already at 112 OVR and starting over with the new account at this point of the game is a daunting task
