EA_Barry appreciate the link. The windows updates listed in that post were not contained in my update history. There was an update for Madden 26 when I logged in just now and I hoped that would be the fix but sadly, no, still getting the failed to launch game error. Appreciate you making suggestions though.

Steeve_BF Thanks for the advice. I tried everything except that my computer would not allow me to uninstall update KB5064081 (but I was able to uninstall KB5063878). I do not think KB5064081 would impact anything because my problems predate when that update was applied on 8/30. My problems started several days before that. All other steps I have tried and they have not resolved the issue.
