This is a joke, on steam you get a discount for buying ME3. I bought all ME with DLCs on Origin and all I get is the ability to pay again for these games. No way I'm doing that for the full price. Remaster doesn't look all that better than free mods, some parts actually look worse and I'm supposed to pay again 55£ for these games I already own. Classic from EA, just a cash grab with minimal cost and effort put into the product, because that's what these remasters are. They could sell it for half the price and make good profit but of course this is EA. Of course there is work involved but nowhere near the costs of actually developing a new game that would justify the price. And as a programmer in the gamedev industry (and growing more and more disappointed with it) I think I have some good insight into the process... Wait until the remaster is patched and max half of the current price, don't feed this broken industry any further, it only gets worse.
Its not one game, its three.
Plus all the DLCs.And imho it is absolutely worth it. 🙂
Honestly, if you can’t effort it or if you don’t want to spend this kind of money for a remaster, just don’t do it.
- @holger1405 Three games that are 10 years old. I can afford them but won't buy out of principle for that much. I already bought the games once.
@holger1405
Its not the cost, its the complete lack of loyalty from EA. We have shown huge loyalty to EA and they have shown nothing back...doesnt even have to be a big discount, even a 5% or 3% discount for previous owners would be enough.
EA just need to show a tiny bit of loyalty...but its EA so they wont.I will buy it but I will give EA the smallest amount of money I can coz they are a bunch of money-grabbing weasels. With all the cash they get from Fifa MTs they could give every owners of the Trilogy a free copy and still make a profit
The game is beauty and, at last, the ME1 is a fair "remaster", but for me (and other Brazilians gamers) this Legendary Edition "just got a lot more complicated" an exist 2 reasons for this:
First: For us (Brazilians), the full price of the Game represents a 1/3th of the basic wage, so every discount will be pleased for those (like ME!) already purchased the original trilogy and ALL the DLC's (who cost more than original trilogy vanilla games). I spent a lot of hours playing the Original Trilogy and I would like, as a fan, that I have an acknowledgment of it. I'll give you a very simple example: When I bought the Ubisoft Assassin's Creed Odyssey game, the Deluxe version, I bought it at a discount and, in addition to the game with the DLC's, came the complete Remastered Assassin's Creed III and the complete Assassin's Creed HD Liberation, FOR FREE. Another example: The game Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition was presented as a free update for those who bought the original PC version. I am not asking for a free version, but that has at least a representative discount for those who are already fans of the original.Second: For us (Brazilians), the non-existence of a minimal localization (A.K.A. Subtitles), move aways the possible new gamers who could easily embark on the full range of products in addition to games, bringing considerable revenue to EA. And here I've heard posts talking about the importance of learning English (which for me is not a problem) and that one of the probable explanations for not having a subtitle in my language would be the Brazilian public's lack of interest in EA games or even the volume of players. But if it really exists, it is precisely because of this neglect of including a Subtitle in PT-BR that there is this lack of interest. A game extremely dense and rich in its history should not only have subtitles in PT-BR but in many other languages. This would open up a much wider range of fans, with a greater engagement even for the Andromeda franchise and for the next M.E. announced shortly by EA. Many times I missed presenting the game to my friends just because I don't have a localization in my language. Friends who could become fans and bring more revenue to EA and Bioware.
There will be other ways for less privileged players to play this game (and that is TOTAL your fault, EA!) And luckily in Brazil we have game translation teams that will probably find a way to do ("FOR FREE") a service that EA / Bioware (and put them both because, in my ignorance, I don't know whose fault this was) could have remedied with less than 1% of this Remake's production.
And there's also something... this translation didn't even need to come out at launch, it could be something later, maybe in an update, and that could be told, it would be great, but all the comments asking for a translation in PT-BR or are neglected or simply ignored by the staff, unfortunately.I'm still not going to buy the game, 1 for the full price (which resolves over time) and 2 for the lack of a location, even if it is just subtitles from the dialogues. when (if) these two points are resolved, then I click on "buy game".

EA being EA. No love for the longstanding fans.
I get it - 3 games in 1, some time consuming work to polish some things, make the game 4K, gameplay changes, etc. But still... for owners of all 3 games, in deluxe versions, with all (or most at least) not giving at least a discount? It is pure EA, simple as that. I didn't even expect it to be free - I would pay gladly up to $14.99, as a token of my appretiation for work put into this release, as a thank you that I don't have to install 3 games separately, juggle with mods, etc. But full price for long time fans? I don't even want to start with the list of known games and their developers that were given remasters for free for all current owners... But I will mention the latest example - Disco Elysium. They made all game voiced-over... and this game is all about text, for crying out loud... you think it was cheap for them? And yet they gave it for free! During pandemic!
Perfectly fair price for the U.S. 3 games plus all DLC except one (not that they didn't try) remastered to 4K HDR, improved gameplay for ME1. Considering that I'm probably going get about 180 hours on the 1st playthrough alone (and I'm planning on multiple playthrough), that's under $0.33 an hour. I'm also speaking as someone that bought all 3 original games and DLC at launch at full price.

@CrolugYou are so wrong in any aspect...
I think I already said this, it's just like a video CD which now got remastered and sold on Blu-Ray. Even if it is same movie, there are 2 different products. And let's not start to compare EA/BW/MELE with another names because it's easy to ignore that EA also did some giveaway (and without pandemic reason). As an owner of all the Mass Effect games and DLC this is a slap in the face, the Origin platform has become the Betamax of game distribution, deleted and corrupted cloud saved, lost back up saves, slow download, slow to non existent support. I was willing to over look this as a massive fan of the Mass Effect series, BUT giving no discount, NO extra DLC or in game item to acknowledge the players how supported the series from day one is an insult. Literary NOTHING to reward the loyal fans. At this point I'm no longer buying anything on the Origin platform and Bioware can suck it. I'm wealthy now, not like when I was a poor student and spent my hard earnt savings on the original games because I wanted to support this type of game. I played ME1 as a hacked game at a mates place and opted not to take a copy but BUY the game as I was such a fan. Not any more. EA and Bioware, you have lost me. The knife is deep.
