Mass Effect Andromeda Constructive Feedback

To have every issue in one single post, I've decided to edit my original post to include all subsequent posts of mine. Hopefully if Bioware/EA can easily find everything, there is a higher chance of them actually doing something. Apart from separating the new issues by date and numbering them continuously, I'll also add FIXED or PARTIALLY FIXED headers to previous issues that have already been solved.

TECHNICAL RELATED:

12. Using Explorer Profile, evade is changed to "blink", similar to Overwatch Tracer's ability. If Ryder is standing at an upward incline, the move does not trigger and Ryder will blink only to remain on the same spot as if blocked by a wall.

13. The blue exclamation mark mission marker for "Lost Drones" Additional Task on EOS triggers too early in the game. When Ryder access the terminal earlier in the game, the terminal is blank and shows nothing.

14. Codex Entry -> Planets & Locations -> The Scourge "Exclamation Mark" does not disappear after additional text is added to the entry after "The Journey to Meridian" mission.

15. Inventory "Exclamation Mark" does not disappear even after scrolling through everything. I noticed this after crafting the item for Liam's side quest, "Armor Diplomacy" and unlocking the Cryo Pod "Mining Operations". I am unsure which of the two is the cause.

16. During conversations, background NPCs not talking to Ryder, become frozen in place. After conversation is finished, they start moving again. Breaks immersion.

e.g. When initiating conversation with the Salarian Pathfinder on the Nexus, you see the Asari Pathfinder frozen in place in the background when she should be continuing with her scripted movements.

17. Nexus General Merchant at the Docking Bay have no goods to sell even after re-loading game multiple times. Same happens to the Kadara Mods Merchant. Happened to me late in the play through.

18. SAM notification, "You have new email at your terminal pathfinder" incorrect. No new email available after checking either at the bridge or in the room.

19. Nomad Shield Crafting Additional Task bugged. The mission is not marked as completed even after crafting the corresponding tech for the Nomad.

GAME PLAY RELATED:

24. After an outpost has been created on a planet, give the option for the Tempest to land at either the original, or the outpost site.

25. ME:A allows the player to tint any armor, clothing with customized color choices. It is a great idea, but using the current color triangle is hard to nail down exact color coordinates. Allow input of the numerals for RGB via keyboard (PC), virtual keyboard (consoles).

26. Atmospheric Pressure is 0.00 for way too many planets. Based on the description of said planets, there is no way the ATM should be 0. Manually go through each individual planet's data again to adjust the numbers.

27. Once the romance target has been established and the intimate scene has already happened, give the player the option in the conversation wheel to show affection to your romance choice.

e.g. On the Tempest if initiating conversation with Peebee, give options for "Kiss Peebee", "Hug Peebee", "WooHoo with Peebee"

On the Nexus if initiating conversation with Peebee, give options for "Kiss Peebee", "Hug Peebee"

Once you are close with someone, display of affection should happen every so often and not just a once and done, no?

Ideally, if Bioware has the time, of course even more variation should be added. e.g. Jealousy of partner(s) if Ryder is two timing/three timing, etc. If Ryder kissed/slept with A, when romancing B and so on. In ME3, Ashley made a sarcastic comment on the Citadel hospital if your Shepard romanced Miranda in ME2, things like that make the relationship part of the game very interesting, IMO.

TECHNICAL RELATED:

9. During the cut scene at the the mission "The Journey to Meridian", where Ryder has activated the main console at Khi Tasira, your two squad mates are superimposed on each other when the camera pans towards them instead of physically standing side by side. In my case it was Peebee and Cora.

10. At the Aya planetary governor's office, there is a duplicate Paaran Shie. One of the Paaran Shie, if you talk to her, the conversation starts as if it is the first time talking to her. After the conversation, the two Paaran Shie will physically "merge" to the same location, but you can still see its two models, because they are not moving the exact same body parts in the exact same time.

11. One of the assistants to Avela Kjar at the Aya Museum will teleport to a close by location after Ryder finishes conversation with Avela Kjar. This has also occurred with another few NPCs through the game. It is as if the NPC was scripted to be in another location and not the location where Ryder had the conversation, so to compensate for the error in coordinates, the game "pulls" said NPC to another location.

GAME PLAY RELATED:

Regarding Multiplayer:

21. Add a text chat in the game lobby. Often times I do not know if people are AFK or just plain dumb, they don't press start and the game just hangs there. If the other three do not kick him/her out, everyone has to leave the lobby.

22. Make more weapons viable. To my experience, right now only viable builds are ones running a high damage sniper like the Isharay, Black Widow, etc., with biotics and/or skill points put into increasing melee damage + Juggernaut shield.  On Silver and above, even with the above load outs, you still needs to have semi competent team mates or it would be difficult.

23. The game in it's current form, half the people lag, so your essentially left with max two good teammates in most games.

I have connection of 100M/100M (located in Asia GMT+8), and over 70% of the time I play, there is an incredible amount of rubber banding , devices not reacting to my command, or continuously progress breakup prior to deactivation, making the device rounds a royal pain in the a**. Out of those games, another 50%, I drop out mid-round or at the extraction rounds, literally making me throw my mouse...

I played so much ME3 MP, did almost all MP achievements twice or more, even  got Best of the Best banner, and I really don't remember the connection aspect being so horrendous. Bioware/EA needs to fix the broken MP asap.

TECHNICAL RELATED:

7. Party Banter starting in the middle when fast travelling to forward stations.

e.g. Cora and Vetra banter about Ardat Yakshi started with Cora answering Vetra, but Vetra's question was never played.

8. Combat Fitness Ability Bug: One of the two Rank 4 choices will unlock:
+20% Health Regeneration Cap

+50% Health Regeneration

+20% Shield Regeneration.

However, the +20% Health Regeneration Cap is not triggering and health only regenerates to 50%. (Found bug using Isharay augmented with Bio-Converter, health never regenerates past half the bar).

GAME PLAY RELATED:

20. The Datapads lying around the Asari and Salarian Arks should not mentioned the Kett as Kett. The name was coined by the Hyperion crew along with the Nexus crew after first contact in Habitat 7. There was no contact between the Hyperion/Nexus Crew and the Asari and Salarian, so there is no way they could have shared this info or coincidentally called this new alien race by the same exact name. The word "hostile aliens", or something to that effect should be used in all texts found on the aforementioned arks.

Hi EA/Bioware,

Even after Googling, I am unsure where I am able to provide my feedback so I am posting it here. If this is not the correct location please redirect me, I will re-post.

I am one of the many players that have been looking forward to ME:A for a long time. Having played over 1000hrs among all previous Mass Effect games, I had expectations that ME:A would reach levels close to the Witcher 3. I've logged 103 hrs now and thought I've experience enough of ME:A to be able to offer some constructive feedback to try make this game better. I will continue to provide feedback as I move forward in the game.

Technical Related:
1. During initiation of a conversation, often times when Ryder is not oriented towards the subject you want to talk to, it becomes difficult to hear the NPC's voice. I believe this is due to the game simulating the distance and the direction of the sound. Thus if Ryder is turned the "wrong way", technically the sound would not be coming towards Ryder from the front, hence conversation cannot easily be heard. Fix by forcing conversation between Ryder and NPC to be face to face, or alternatively increase volume of conversation.

2. A variation of the above problem I have encountered is that the NPC Ryder is trying to have conversation with, does not stop and talk to Ryder. Instead, they continue with their scripted movements. This happened to me during the side mission "Reformation" on Voeld where I was supposed to help the Angaran Tej, defeat the Kett. Once I have clicked Tej, and conversation has initiated, he started walking further and further away from Ryder, while Ryder was locked in place. What then happened is Tej's words started to trail off and become impossible to hear as the NPC was now a mile away from Ryder.

3. Main Menu music looping over and over during priority mission

4. Lower level weapon mod having the same effect as higher one. (e.g. Shotgun Barrel III +12% Damage, same as Shotgun Barrel IV)

5. Peebee Tempest room not rendering causing her to stand "in space" until Ryder run towards her and the room renders.

6. "Evading forward", up a flight of stairs causes Ryder to get "momentarily stuck". It is not a smooth "up-the-stairs slide". An alternate bug on some stairs is that Ryder will "fly upwards towards the sky".

Game play related:
1. (PARTIALLY FIXED in 1.05) Improve facial animation. Please manually tune those scenes. Focus on Ryder and main NPCs first, then move on to the likes of Foster Addison, etc.

2. Improve character creation kit: Please give more variety to mold the face, more hairstyles, etc.

3. Add Ryder Character Equipment Screen. Exclusion of this screen, where the players can see and change what Ryder is currently equipping in terms of armor and the weapons, etc.) is extremely inconvenient. Not being able to check the stats of the current armor/weapons except during load out (and what mods are installed and their effects). Often times I have wanted to check between the mod I just picked up vs. what is already installed on my weapon and I cannot. With the small inventory number (50 items max without cryo pod upgrades), often times I dismantle loot during missions, without the ability to double check if existing or new item is better, it makes it unnecessarily troublesome.

4. The option to have the helmet ON/OFF should not be under Gameplay Menu. It is inconvenient, and highlights the previous point of why it is a sub optimal design choice not to have a character screen. I suppose it can be argued that Ryder and co.'s space suits cannot be removed in hazardous planets so the need for a character screen to allow player swap armor/arms/legs is not needed. But for immersion reasons, based on the status of the planet (e.g. High radiation level initially vs. regular climate after activation of Remnant Vault in Eos) the characters should sometimes have helmets off, sometimes on. Changing from Gamplay Menu is like breaking the fourth wall, breaks immersion.

5. Add character screen to allow changing of squad mate's weapons and armor pieces. It is a HUGE step backwards in terms of variety without this. Limiting to the type of weapon a squad mate can use is fine for character background reasons (e.g. Shotgun only for Drack, Sniper only for Jaal, etc.)

6. Add option to "solo" or take only one squad mate on ground missions.

7. No option to access AVP rewards off-Tempest or off-Nexus is extremely inconvenient. The player should not need to set an alarm for 45min or 30min intervals to not lose out on the research point rewards, or mineral rewards. Why no simply auto cash-in of said reward at when timer runs its course? Cannot tell you how many times I've gone an hour and a half without returning to the Tempest, hence missing out.

8. Provide a menu option to disable SAM's non-stop whining of planetary conditions. Ryder is not an idiot and doesn't need to be notified that the environmental hazard level has increased from 1 to 2 for the nth time. This is especially annoying when exploring the boundaries of safe and hazardous areas. Specific examples would be Shaded and non shaded areas on Elaaden. The Kett/Angaran Heat Lamps in Voeld, Site 1/Site 2 force field fence on Eos.

9. Tempest should not take off the minute Ryder steps on it. Oftentimes you just want to go check an e-mail to progress a side quest to the next stage, or just click on AVP reward, etc. It breaks immersion that the crew will go into all the trouble to take off and go into orbit and then drop back down to the planet surface again. Not to mention you need to watch the Tempest take off / planetary entry cut scenes for the nth time.

10. (FIXED in 1.05) Very very very difficult to find what entries in the Journal/Codex entry has been updated. There can be as much as two sub-folders in a Journal/Codex entry, yet only the inner most entry is high lighted with the "exclamation mark". Worse is that the exclamation mark disappears the minute the entry is scrolled through. Meaning simply trying to find the updated entry, you can very easily accidentally mark it as read, hence missing the update altogether. Suggestion is for the "!" be show in the outermost folder so the player can easily find the update. Also, do not remove "!" the moment the player has scrolled through. Make it so that it needs to be double-clicked to be mark as read.

11. Auto Cutoff of conversation a big problem. Types of conversations encountered can be grouped into
a) Squad mate banter
b) Story/Mission related conversation (e.g. reaching a point on the map causing Ryder or squad mate or SAM to comment, story/mission related)
c) SAM or Squad mate notification (near mineral harvest points, near Remnant Ruins, near enemies, etc.)
The game oftentimes cut a) and b) off in favor of c), when c) is the most useless and non-informative/non-interesting. Prioritize a) and b)
In the event that a) and b) both are happening, queue them in sequence, in the event that a) or b) are happening, never allow c) to happen or queue it to run afterwards.

12. Enable SAVE GAME during priority missions. Not for difficulty sake, but for the sake of allowing loading allowing the player to make a difference story choice, to pick up missed loot, replay of exciting enemy fights, without having to play the whole mission over.

13. Include the squad mates during the gravity Well animations. Only Ryder moving up/down/forward and the other two disappearing is very immersion breaking.

14. Add mission conversation so side quests/fetch quests do not abruptly end. e.g. You are asked to do something and sometimes it is not necessary to even go back to the quest giver for a closure, very strange.

15. Remove redundant email terminal on the bridge of the Tempest, every other function only has one location on the Tempest except this one. It makes little logical sense.

16. No context for the Gil and Kallo fight. I had no idea if Gil's modifications are making any "improvements" to the Tempest in terms of functionality or performance. How is the player supposed to decide who to side with? First of all, the writing needs to give clearer information so an choice can be made logically, then finally give more meaning to these choices, what difference does it make for the player? Make it so that the Tempest may malfunction (perhaps a related side quest only triggering for one of the choices), or something so that there is actually a consequence. Many other instances of superficial choices not making any difference in the game, unless you guys are going to keep the choice flags for exporting to ME:A 2, ME:A 3...

17. Journal Entries too often have titles that are spoilers for anyone with above average imagination. The journal entry title (also used by the Galaxy Map) needs to be written in a way that will not give away more than what is supposed to be known by the player at the particular point in time during the progress of the mission.

18. Cut scene lighting for dark areas need improvement. Too dark in many areas.

19. Redundant [Press Space] screen during start up of ME Andromeda as well as during transitions from Single Player -> Multiplayer or vice versa. Just having that screen at game start up is fine, but not in the latter two cases.
