ME2:LE Galaxy map totally silent

Playing Mass Effect 2: Legendary Edition on PC (windows 10, purchased through steam) and so far I'm not having any issues... except on the galaxy map. Everything works perfectly fine just with out sound of any kind, no music, no movement, probes, nothing. Sound works perfect every where else, I can even hear the galaxy map music start as I enter it but it quickly goes silent as I enter the map proper. Anyone else experiencing this and know a fix?
