ME3 LE PC crash after clicking resume or start on homescreen

I have played through the legendary edition before already. This playthrough I got to the very end of the game right before starting the final 2 missions, and I was in the citadel dlc about to start ...

    1. Make sure Steam and EA app are closed.
    2. Disable the internet connection of your PC.
    3. Go to your "C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect 3” folder.
    4. Move the "Save" folder and the "BIOGame” folder to your desktop. (The folders must be gone from the original path!)
    5. Test the game.
