Please Fix Overall Gameplay in ME2
This is for the devs at Bioware/EA:
Bigtime ME fan since the series came out in 2007. I can't count how many hours I've played this game over the years, both PC and Xbox360. I got the XBSX version and I'm loving it, but I have a few issues, a few graphical in the system and gameplay:
Graphics are great, but artifacting happens somewhat, with the main screen going completely multicolor snow pixels many times.
Load times are awesome, but game crashes a bit on "insane" difficulty. Fighting the boss at the end of ME1 on "insane" would crash to the Xbox screen when I used the shield ability (Adept here), or when I used two or more with that same ability with another power. After abt 9 crashes I was able to finish it. Overall, it's not that bad, just thought I'd throw this out there.
The weapons improvements and gameplay balancing is awesome in ME1. Insane mode while can be trying is little easier. Don't get me wrong, I still died a lot, especially from snipers. What made it easier is starting a new game importing my previous run and playing that on Insane setting as in the previous ME1s. I still had all of my powers, armors, weapons etc. Having said this, why wasn't this done in ME2? While I can start a new game with my powers and talent points, I have to start over getting weapons and armor upgrades with far less money. Importing from ME1, I'd have plenty of money, but ME2 to ME2, wow a few weapons/armor upgrades and it's gone. This makes playing the game on Insane just too hard. it took me 2 hours just to get Mordin which is a serious need to open up the upgrade lab.
And getting resources to make the upgrades is still tedious having to use the planet scan system which is slow. That's aside from how hard it to earn money in ME2. Some weapons upgrades I need I have to do small planet battle side missions for paltry sums many time just to get one upgrade. Then I have to travel to the place where I can get it. Many times I have to venture back to the same places to get upgrades. So here goes:
- Can you Slow down the enemy ability to recover health so fast (esp Bloodpack). I'd go through ammo and they'd recover fast while reloading. Some of them don't even get affected until I am close enough (I died a lot because of that). On other BPs, I'd use "Singularity" on a rocket launching enemy and they'd still fire with accuracy while floating around. 😬 Also, they'd sometimes bounce around erratically, sometimes in a spaghetti fashion. I was killed by a mech explosion this way LOL.
- Fix the ammo drops please (or really increase weapons/power damage for companions & Shepard). I know it was stated that this was vastly improved, but it's not at all evident on "Insane" setting but is on casual (have not played any other setting yet). I'm going from previous experiences with MELE and prior Xbox/PC games. Other than ammo spawn points, there were not many ammo drops if any at all. On casual after killing enemies, I could see the ammo cartridges drop almost every time. I literally had to get through some battles with just using my power because there was so little ammo to find. I won't play a vanguard/soldier because of this.
- Please balance out the difficulty to how it was made in ME1. On ME1 "Insane" I could shoot an enemy with a sniper rifle with explosive shells and take it out in 3 shots. In ME2, I could hit a shielded enemy multiple times and just get the shield down about half along with using biotic powers. Barried/shielded armored enemies are just wow! My companions die a lot and Medi-gel is not enough many times. Enemies can literally kill me in 3 shots or two tech/biotic attacks. My suggestion is either really ramp up Shepard's health/shield//power/weapon's damage, or give Shepard all of their abilities and upgrades starting a new game import from ME2 to ME2.
- Please allow all weapons, money and upgrades to carry over into the new ME2 game to ME2 import (starting new game in ME2 and importing previous ME2 play through), likes ME1 does. This would make playing it on "Insane" easier. It also would follow ME1's import system. As of right now, I am about to give up playing on "Insane" because the difficulty is making it not a fun experience. Heck, even the "Insane" setting on ME before MELE on subsequent playthrough was far easier than this on MELE ME2.
I haven't played ME3 yet because I wanted to finish ME2 on "Insane" so now I am just thinking of going to that now. I apologize if any of this is redundant, I am just asking for some gameplay improvements beyond what is already there in ME2. It seems only graphics were improved.
Thnx lots and the game is awesome looking. I love revisiting it all again, and it's worth the money.
