Okay, I was really glad when they said they'll get rid of the paragon-renegade system. It was too extreme, paragon easily got too high-and-mighty, and renegade sometimes turned into genocidal maniac. The new system could've solved this - come on, even Inquisition had it right. But now Ryder seems to be really understanding by default... Yes, sometimes we can disagree with squadmates or random people - but only respectfully. Why can't I tell Suvi that her faith-science views are ridiculous? Why can't I tell Lexi to simply shut up & deal with it when she complains about her job being already too hard without me doing this or that? I could name many other occasions where this bothered me, I just don't want to spoil anything, I think you get the point.

Ryder is responsible for the SAM A.I. his/her father created. Acting evil might be the final nail on its coffin. Because most people will give SAM the fault for Ryder acting mean. So Ryder has to be as nice and diplomatic and forgiving as possible to show everybody that the A.I. in the head doesnt dominate her/him to an evil monster of domination and terror?

Their parents were nice folks, and brought the twins up the right way, it seems... ;-)

In the original ME series, I played multiple times and most times I played Paragon as its more my play style but in all honesty there are some people that you just say heck it and renegade his A*S. In other words I wont shoot mordin in the back but I will shock that batarian mechanic. Am fine getting rid of the paragon renegade system cant expect everyone to be great like Shepard, but all the conversational choices made here leads to a crappy psy profile that hardly updated and found hidden in the codex. Whilst I dont need to headbutt Kesh or punch addision's tired face, I would really like to at least stand up for myself and the decisions I made. Firmly, confidently, resolutely standup for myself and not get bullied by a bunch of administrators, This is a dude that destroyed kett armies and went toe to toe with architects, and he gets bullied by addison? Seriously?

Well, there are different inflections there. Ryder might be ever friendlier when regarding the angara, due their so often mentioned 'protocols' (in spite of gunning down Rokaar rather remorselessly). What Ryder could take different turns upon being fierce or even mad about is relationship with other known characters. As a Pathfinder, there's a role of diplomatic importance on their shoulders, ans being downright obnoxious might tarnish their objectives. Of course, that might be a simple explanation. Ryders are still humans. A little burst of anger or wicked malice once in a while could be of use as well.

Because Ryder's backstory establishes him/her as a professional from the start? Figure, if the way you want Ryder to act would get you justifiably fired from your job, Ryder's probably never going to act like that, for pretty much exactly that reason. Probably the worst you could do is refuse to help anyone, which is counterproductive from a leveling standpoint and so nobody actually picks those choices.

Why can't Ryder be actually mean?

Dont be so damn spoiled. Just because some games give you freedom for your playstyle dont expect every game to do so. The more freedom a player has, the more different pathes the storywriter have to cover up to satisfy everybody. Means opposite for the opposite, less freedom, better polished up story.. usually.

I know right? I always played my femsheps as renegade taking no * from nobody and my female chars in the dragon age games were kind of the same. Finding it hard to do that in Andromeda.

Well you can choose to safe a sexy Asari pathfinder while leaving the ugly bunch of Krogan scouts to their doom. So superficially evil and b.itchy..

Cant help but have to rant about this.

So i get the choice to sacrifice a bunch of nameless Krogan scouts i never met in the game or the new baby Asari pathfinder i choosed because of a bad choice of the former asari pathfinder. And all that only because that young pathfinder had to leave behind her people like the girl from the movie that got told to stay in the car but shows up behind the hero a second later or get cought by the gangsters and causes both her and the hero to end in prison.
