@phillypily19I know what is causing rivals to crash. Fix you change the ports on xbox one and it will work and not work like that. Settings :> Network:>Advanced Settings:> Choose ports. What i know, This issue is caused by Xbox updates and making rivals freeze and crash due to xbox ports by updates. I hope this helps🙂@DarkyHaus You obviously have not read most of the posts on here, otherwise you would know that it is not a port issue but a EA server issue, changing ports has been mentioned before and tried and it doesn't work game still crashes, plus this issue is also happening on all platforms including PC which has nothing to do with xbox updates or ports. Sorry, only way to play 100% crash free is to play offline.
So it's 2 years later did you ever get your rivals working. I made the mistake of buying it last year and yep freezing all the same. My other need for speed games work great but this one is just pissing me off.
Ever get it working? Ea should have offered us all a refund by now.
Ok here we are December 2020 plagued by the corona virus globally I'm going to do the unthinkable and download my copy of Need for speed Rivals again and attempt to play the game I paid for two f*#king years ago and fingers crossed I actually can. I see posts that go as far back as 2013 about this issue so if it's not fixed by now god dam!! I will never purchase another product from them.

Hey there! NFS Rivals was one of my favorite games growing up and around the release of the previous-gen of consoles (PS4, XB1), Rivals was the go-to game for me. Sadly, I played Rivals on my PS4 and have since switched to Xbox permanently. Like pretty much every user in this thread, NFS Rivals keeps crashing once I get to the menu (or in some instances the actual game session). I got a few hours of gameplay before I experienced any of these bugs, so it was really frustrating to see considering I finally found the game on Xbox's game pass. Anyway, I was wondering if the game worked for you or not and if there will be any patch to fix it (maybe not from EA, but maybe Xbox?). Hope all went well!

Hope all went well!@NickJP3011 I have been troubleshooting the game without EA help/support for over a year, with the help of players on here and some friends, and what I figure out is that the issue is with EA servers, and since this issue has been going on since the game first came out in 2013, and the lack of response/resolution from EA support, it is extremely unlikely that this will ever get fixed. However, there is a solution, in order to play 100% crash/freeze free you must play offline, you can do this by disconnect your Xbox from the internet BEFORE starting the game. You can disconnect your Xbox from the internet a number of ways but the easiest is to go to your Xbox settings under the Xbox home screen, then under network and disconnect internet. Unfortunately, that is currently the only way to play 100% crash/freeze free, and playing this way doesn't allow you to play with your friends/or strangers. Now if you really want to play online with friends/stranger you can do so by starting the game offline, the once your in your garage, reconnect your internet BUT just know that once you reconnect to the internet your game might still crash/freeze. Happy gaming! 🙂

@BBIAJ wrote:The best fix I have been able to come up with, as I just returned to the game yesterday, is to literally keep trying (bear with me on this one!), until it finally does connect, then once in your garage, tab over to All Drive/All Drive Settings/Matchmaking Setting, and choose Private Game.
Since then, I have been able to play absolutely no problem, it's just getting past the hurdle of making that initial connection.
Hope this helps!
I've been playing since November 2019 using the above method, and not had any issues, but seemingly my post must have been missed.
It is ridiculous that EA won't fix the issues with one of their tent-pole franchises though.

I hate to tell you but this is not a fix or a solution, the game will eventually crash/freeze even in private games this has happen to me and others, it might work great for a few times but then it will eventually crash/freeze. Like I said in post #298, the only way to play 100% crash/freeze free is to play offline.

I'll let you know if/when that ever happens, but it hasn't yet.
