EA and BAP Mode

Im pretty sure only 3 people work on this game.  I can almost guarantee if you could mod this game, someone in their basement would be able to drastically improve this game for free in their spare time.

I agree totally. EA does not care about Be A Pro mode. they just "fixed" the 'icy pond hockey' but made it worse. there should be no reason ANY player has to have a form score of 90 to stay in the NHL. that mean you would have to score 1 or more goals (yes GOALS) every game to stay there. that is not realistic. add to the fact that you only get 5-6 energy per WEEK and up to 12. so if you play your heart out and get "tired" you have to use almost all of them to get it back up without getting debuffs. and to boot, to get trait or X-factor points you have to use energy and those are 2 a piece. not to mention all the game play issues with poke checks, stick lifts, penalties, and AI stupidity. it's just horrible but EA says they listen to the community but there game says otherwise. I like defense and had made an enforcer. an enforcers job is to hit people and fight NOT TO SCORE GOALS. maybe assists but not many goals. it's nearly impossible to keep even an 80 form score as a defenseman and that is on superstar with most of my sliders for human WAY up. so I made a forward. in one of my preseason games, I scored 1 goal and was like +2 or 3 but my defense was way down and so was teamplay. reason for that was I had it on pro just to score a goal because another issue is they "amp up" the opposing AI goalie for the player. my teammates score but I couldn't even on pro difficulty. I spent more time in the offensive zone than the defensive zone so my defense was down. also only being 5'8 175 lbs I kept getting blasted and knocked down. even with scoring a goal my form score was 45. it's like a no win scenario. so to supplement the low defense I have to score more that 1 goal. this is just not realistic. I read on a post back in either NHL 24 or 25 that "people want to score goals" bull crap. maybe young kids do but not the ones who want a realistic hockey game. if someone wants to score that many goals let them adjust the sliders and put the difficulty on rookie but give us a REALISTIC HOCKEY GAME. PLEASE. heck they could have just gotten rid of all the stupid challenges in NHL 25 and skipped the stupid form score and just went by the coaches feed back and fixed the issues with the AI, I think it would be alright. so lets say these are your form scores for 8 games.

80, 50, 90, 45, 80, 80, 50, 60. those equal 535 points divided by 8 gives you a chapter form score of 67. your going to the AHL. so that's 4 games above 80, 3 games between 50-60 (still above 50% game play), and only 1 below 50 but you still would go to the AHL. that is NOT realistic.

And a pet peeve of mine is the news headlines after a game in which I didn’t score. Even if we win and my line- the fourth line- held the opposition to NOTHING or maybe were even on the plus side and I unfortunately wasn’t up for a point I’ll get the “tough night” bs. We did our effing job! I try to do the little things like play sound defense, wear the opposition down with a good forecheck, and force an offensive faceoff so the Bedard line can hop over the boards and inherit offensive zone ice.

It's guaranteed there will be a patch to address the silly form score. Like I said before the be a pro this year was designed for veteran players who can put the puck in the back of the net beyond Wayne Gretzky levels every single game.

I hope that a patch fixes it, but for people that keep pointing out their frustrations with be a pro, the community manager guy keeps saying that the team is looking into the form score issue. He has given these comments for weeks, and I'm afraid that they either don't know how to fix it or they can't fix it because the whole mode revolves around the form score. Maybe it'll get fixed or maybe not, if not this year then maybe nhl 27.

They definitely need to give you more energy each week. As people have pointed out, they basically did the same energy system as college football, but didnt really take in account that you play more hockey games per week. The poke checking is also frustrating because I'm also a defenseman and thats the most effective way to play defense is by poke checking the puck away from opponents, but 3/4 of the time that your stick is in the perfect position you still can't touch the puck or when it is successful it just goes to one of their teammates and then they score because it always goes to the wide open man. So I'm glad that I'm playing defense for my team, but also helping out the opposing team, thats team play at its finest of you ask me.

When you play this game yourself, you can see that you are playing a game that is designed for a 10-year-old. The mistakes in the game are those that are made in school, not in adulthood. The game has one main plot (like in a movie) and all the important things related to it have been forgotten on the side. Like injuries, for example, there is no information, data, nothing about them. After all, a 10-year-old doesn't care about such things, but rather about cool tricks and the number of points... This game is about "playing through" rather than playing your own career, and this is a crime against the entire game format.

Very bad photo but you can see, i have 0+2 for first  11 games on 3rd line. Ice time is about 12 minutes/ game. 49 shots and not even one lucky goal because computer not alowed my character made goals. 

This proves that no matter how you play behind the controller, this beginning of your career is predetermined, you don't control your characters career, you are doomed to be the laughing stock of your opponents on the ice at the beginning of your career and you have been forced into this.

One good thing about this is, I'm still a 3rd line, even though it's only 0+2 points in 11 games. It doesn't affect me, I can play more freely. I was freed from the forced shackles that my character was created in. In fact, here I could take a 3rd line role and stop scoring points altogether and focus on tackling etc. This is exactly the kind of role you can't get in the game except with stupid points and this is what, for example, defensive players want: to take away the impact of points and focus on winning matches.

yea and even if you don't get a point and win by 1 your "magical night for ". I understand the mode is about your player but come on, I WANT A REALISTIC HOCKEY GAME. make it about who did the best even if it wasn't me for pete sake.

well I'm not a game designer or computer programmer but if they can't fix it the way we're asking then they should be able to lower the form score number. if the code is like it was back when I went to school for programming (although that was in the mid 90s and I couldn't finish) say it says form score = 80, then change that freaking number to form score = 50. might be that simple, maybe not. but do something for this year. the form score is my second biggest grip about the game, my first is the stupid AI. I'm tired of getting penalized for what they do wrong. if I try and play "my position" you will guarantee a goal and get "bad line defense". you get more taken from you than you get. last night I had 2 goals scored while my guy was on the ice (and those were the only ones they scored by the way) and neither was my fault but after the second, I had a -15% in defense. it took me 5 blocked shots and a few poke checks (not many since they are non existent for the player) to get that much percentage in defense. the way I look at it, if your in the offensive zone for most of the game and they only score 1 goal when your on the ice and their time of possession is WAY low, then you did your job and that should help with your defensive score. I made a 2-way defenseman and had to put it on rookie just so I could get a point for the form score (got 1 assist) and I think out of a full 20 min period they were in the offensive zone (while I was on the ice that is) maybe 5 min. my defense was only like 55 but offense was high and teamplay was high. my form score still tanked about 15 points even with 1 assist. I'm at a loss on this. and this video goes with what Matty_ice2733 says about the poke checks. how in the world can you play defense when it does this nearly all the time.
