Squad battles/Rivals - keep freezing

For the past 4 to 5 weeks (since the last patch), both Squad Battles and Rival keep freezing. 

Up to the screen where both teams are shown there are no issues, but as soon as this screen is on it starts flickering (mostly the background). Once the game starts different players' equipments and details on the ice seem to have shadows or streams of different colours. 

Within 2 minutes, the game freezes and I have to close the game (from the home menu) and always report the error, but it keeps happening. 

This makes the game unplayable. I have cancelled between 30 to 40 games in the past month. 

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game 3 times, with no luck. All other PS5 games I have work well with no issues, just NHL HUT 22, when playing SB or Rivals. 

I have been buying NHL games since 1993 (on Sega :-)) and this is very frustrating, especially when you pay more than 100$ on a game and now you can't play or compete. 

Please help

    Also, additional info - I have a PS5 - digital edition.

    Thanks for getting back to me. Do you also have an external hard drive? If so, can you try installing there instead?

    @EA_Aljo I do not have an external hard drive.

    All of my other games work well on my PS5. For NHL HUT all of the other options in the menu (i.e. auction, team, objectives) are fine, it's just the game play.

    I have tried rebuilding the database, clear cache and restore license and I still have the same issue.
    What would be the next steps?

    @Senstorm69 

    Did you happen to change anything with your team right before this started happening? Maybe your jerseys, logo or a customization on a player? If so, try removing that and see if this still happens.

    @EA_Aljo Hi,
    I will try that, but I doubt it's a Jersey, Logo, etc. since it also freezes in HUT Rush.

    It only happens when playing (SB, Rivals, Challenges and Rush) and started after the patch bout 4 weeks ago. Is there a way to remove the patch or reinstall the version pre-patch and then try reinstall the patch again?

    I have tried 3 more games last night (challenge, Rush and SB) and it froze within 2 minutes. I have changed my HDMI cable as well, but no luck. I was however able to play other games online (not NHL 22) without any issues.

    Can you give me a call or can we troubleshoot this via a live chat. I think the fix is something more than a logo or jersey.

    @EA_Aljo Hi, I have tried the logo and jersey and can confirm it's not that.

    Still the same issue.
