Impossible challenge: UA ISO

Where would I find this specific challenge to have a look, and what are you defining as 'fully maxed out' here? There certainly are shots in the game where it's possible to repeatedly get within 5' even with the random element but the specifics will matter here.

By "fully maxxed out" I mean having full points in the accuracy, control, etc. for the relevant challenge. In this case it is hitting the ball from the bunker.

And no, you are perfectly incorrect.  It is not possible to hit it within 5 yards 15 times in a row.  The RNG variance that is built into EA's engine does not allow that to happen.  At some point before 15 it will send a ball around 7-8 yards regardless of player skill.

Sorry but you misread my post there. Please note I didn't say the specific shot you were attempting was possible to always get inside 5' (feet not yards), but rather that this is possible for some shots in the game. There are absolutely shots with a dispersion zone of less that 5' radius even for me playing with no spec upgrades. I asked where your specific challenge was to get a better idea of what you were actually dealing with...

If you want to convince a game dev that what you're attempting truly is impossible I think it would be helpful if you could state exactly what skill and spec upgrades you are using because without this there will always be questions in this regard. You haven't mentioned shot type or specs at all, and the latter could make a big difference if you've not considered this.

You may well be right that the challenge is impossible but I'm just asking questions to try to see if you can help prove this, to increase the chances of anything being done about this if there really is an issue.

I would agree that this challenge is ridiculous. This is one of the Under Armour Sponsor Challenges. 2nd group; listed as UA ISO. 5 shots from each of 3 bunkers. All 15 shots need to be within 5 ft of hole for 3 stars. Some of the bunker shots are lengthy. Most shots I’ve consecutively hit within 5 ft is 4. I’ve since upgraded the Spec on my wedges with a Legendary Spec, which upgrades all attributes. I’ve also changed swing difficulty from hard back to easy for the sake of completing this challenge, however, it doesn’t seem possible. The direction of the ball flying out of bunker seems randomized. Spent a large chunk of time experimenting with the two shot types offered as well (blast and I forgot the other one) Ridiculously hard. Anytime a shot lands outside of 5 ft, I end up restarting the challenge. Curious to see how many have actually attained 3 stars on this challenge. Please adjust challenge and make it easier

@tbizzo21Thanks. It will definitely be a gold level pick that is best in shot terms, and maximising the short game recovery skill is what will minimise the dispersion zone size I believe. I have gold pick and short game recovery 8 and the dispersion zone is definitely too big to reliably hit inside 5' (with a 64° wedge), but I don't have a spec upgrade to help. Not sure what difference a legendary wedge recovery spec might make...

Edit: actually short game accuracy is probably important too. It's a shame there is a 'cost' to retraining skills so it's not easy to quickly check. 

Really wish to know who the person create this specific challenges. I understand if its 10 out of 15. BUT ALL 15??? Aim with the same direction, same power same spin i still cant get 3 stars. 

I've been trying this challenge for days. So much that I've hit the same 3 shots in a row but the ball goes somewhere different each time. Best I did was 10 within 5 feet. All 15 is impossible 

Wonder if any devs were actually able to do this before putting it in the game vs selecting an arbitrary number and say this is what it takes. Not too thrilled about blowing away 18,000 store points for the legendary spec that didn’t seem to do near as much as I expected. Leveling all skill points on short game is next before I attempt this again.

I agree that this would be an impossible challenge if you aren't using spin control.  I actually managed this in 2 tries with a level 99 character and decent spin.  You just need to use a pick shot and spin the ball to counter the incorrect shots.  It's definitely an annoying setup because of the random direction of the shots but if you are good at managing the spin mid-air you can make it within 5 feet most of the time pretty easily.

I have tried this as well. Maybe you can help. How do you use spin control? I have been tapping A while using the left directional stick to try to spin the ball in a certain direction as the controller settings say to, while the ball is midflight. However, using the left stick, will spin the camera angle around the ball and won’t actually induce the spin like the instructions say it should. Just curious if I’m doing it wrong or if this is one of the bugs that needs to get ironed out.
