I have seen a number of posts about RNG but unsure what it is? I don't see it in the settings or did I miss it? I am playing using a controller at Sim Level difficulty.What I have noticed after playing the game off and on for about a month is that the trajectory of the ball flight unless you really exaggerate the movement of the stick to the right or left does not seem to be impacted at all by more subtle movements of the stick. The stick movement only affects the power when the speed of the downswing is compared to the length of the backswing and the difference is negligible. So does RNG mean that regardless of how you move the stick, there can be a random dispersion of your ball flight? Is this supposed to simulate a "mishit"?The gameplay really has to be tweaked so that the actions of players impacts shot results.

I am also reading ELF above.I am not trying to tell him how to play but if he is using his 'stick' to direct his shots, I have found that if you use your entire controller rotated forward and back while you have your finger gently on the stick the shots become right on their marks as the finger then follows the controller rotation automatically. I cannot believe that I am the only one that has discovered this and is talking about it. Mishits are created by poor forward and back movements. If you are using your finger to move the stick forward and back ... good luck with your outcomes. Practice in Game Play.

LemonKid, thank you for your tip and your comment is bang on. Even had a few "Perfect" downswings. I don't know why I never thought of it as that is the way I have been putting. It is a very subtle movement but I have eliminated shots that are way off line. The swing is way better than 2K23 and getting close to my favourite swing which is RTSM in Perfect Golf. I have been playing with Hard difficulty for the swing and putting.

@SLouis2001 The answer to your question is yes. RNG ,was coined to represent "Random Number GENERATOR". Basically to describe the random dispersion of a shot.

In my experience the zone shown is not even accurate. The ball has often landed well outside the circle for no apparent reason.

Two days ago I was ridiculously accurate driving the ball, today not so much.

I have been on record as saying I like the idea of a dispersion zone, but I don't need to see it. There is not enough granularity in a controller input, or programmed into a video game; allowing us to be too accurate by using the information from user input alone.

Which is why I am not opposed to a small percentage of dispersion layered over the results of a players swing.

In my opinion, if they blended the swing mechanics from both games it would be about right. Using tempo to control both hook/fade (from 2K) and distance from (EA), with EA's swing...

The one thing I like about EA's is that it allows you to make partial swings, something that is near impossible in 2K.

And in both games distance shouldn't be controlled by where you but an aiming reticule. At least 2K gave me the option to disable it.

But EA still has some issues with their ball physics in the game.

I’ve had multiple perfectly straight shots on the swing meter go offline

I’m well into 600 hours on this game at this point

I posted a shot a bit ago where by I hit the exact same swing, exact same swing line and exact same overswing. And the difference was 10 yards

Yeah, like @SlimDown57 mentioned, it's a lot easier to get perfect / perfect on 3-click, specially on Arcade. A lot of those players complained and left in frustration because the ball is going so offline to where they aimed, going in the rough or hitting a tree out of the way.
