Poll results

I put a poll up on Reddit last week and asked folks there which setting they'd prefer for a PvZ shooter, and here are the results:

54
45.4%
Surburbia/Neighborville focused

44
37.0%
Many different places and times

21
17.6%
Zomburbia focused

I voted for the many different places and times myself as I'd like the game to be focused on the original PvZ setting like GW did, have that be the game's anchor, but then have zombie controlled areas from the GW2 Zomburbia idea, and of course places in the past and future, and all over the world.

This is one of things I wanted to let people express in their personal neighborhood; the default would be much like GW'2 backyard battleground, but you would be able to alter quite a bit as you unlocked stuff to place there, so it could change not only in looks, but in fun activities and the AI that would spawn.

I fully get the idea of sticking to the original setting, but I also love the idea of going beyond, especially if things are tied in really well with the narrative and activities.

  • @Iron_Guard8 Sad to see zomburbia lag behind as the zombie aesthetic is very visually pleasing and the maps are more varied in than either suburbia or neighborville zombie maps imo. It also gave us Zombopolis which is easily one of the best maps from a visual and aesthetic standpoint.

I despise the graphic mods in gw2 that remove all the purple "to make it look less ugly" yet replace all of it with dirt brown and absolutely butcher the lighting system.

The time travel could leave many possibilities open to explore all of these areas while providing unique gimmicks like the lava or teleporters while making it feel more natural unlike the cheese.

I'm with you in the opinion that have plant areas be like gw1 as that represents pvz 1 well but keep heavy zombie areas like gw2 and lighter zombie areas like zomboss mansion.

The personal neighborhood idea could work really well if you could massive battles take place and the winning team gets to redecorate the area in their teams aesthetic.

One thing I want are more beach maps but in the style of SharkBite and driftwood shores, which seem to have a much more raw atmosphere than pressure pier or turning point.

  • I would have voted for "Many different places and times" in my opinion. I would prefer not to have a single setting, the plants and zombies should still continue to have the ultimate showdown to see which faction wins and takes over. This would be different in the plants case, but you know what I mean, I am sure!

The many different places and times could include Surburbia and Zomburbia, as well as different locations, including new locations that we have seen in the shooters to date, as well as some of the locations that have appeared in at least one of the current shooters.
